Blizzard sees Honorbuddy on your comuter

I was on the phone with Blizzard and they said they detected Honorbuddy running along side my wow account. I received a 6 month ban on my accounts. What concerns me is Blizzard claimed they saw Honorbuddy running on my computer. What we need is a way to rename Hb so it is not detected on the task manager. or so it cannot be seen running on my computer while I am playing wow.

Around 6 months ago I was banned for 3 days and Blizzard told me this same thing. Honorbuddy said that if they thought Blizzard was going to be able to do this they would take steps to remedy it. I hope this is possible.

The blizzard customer support person was very clear that blizzard saw HB running along side wow.

Just to be clear on the facts of my accounts
My play time and style had not changed
I do always play in 32 bit
I don’t use gatherbuddy or farm any more since garrisons supply everything.
I don’t use BGbuddy and I don’t do battlegrounds at all.
 
What I wanna know is why the big guns around here are not commenting on these bans. I found that ***** is a bot just like honorbuddy and they always comment when someones banned and find out what went wrong.
 
you dont even know what detected means if honorbuddy would be detected u could not even start the program they got you banned by the pattern of the profiles that got stuck etc that does not mean the program is detected they know the pattern coordinates because evrything here on the forum is public evryone can download those profiles they should made the forum like the glider forums seee the forums download evrything only when you have a subscrition
 
Yes I posted a while back, and people said no blizz cant see your computer. I was blatantly told today by a Blizz employee that yes they can see it. Blizz detects it. It seems the bans are going in batches as I haven't play my second account in a week and did not bot today and it was banned today retroactively. I am sure more are coming soon.

The representative said that Honorbuddy by name, was detected running concurrently with my wow client.

Also I always watch my toons as i ran them. they didn't get stuck. I used the combat/raid bots in raids more than anything else. and I also turned the bot off at times when It didn't do as well as I like in some boss fights. There was no pathing with how I used it.

Besides like i said the Blizz employee was very clear on the fact that they detected HB running on my computer.

i had this issue to for 6 7 months ago i got banned quite alot the same with giwin we talked on skype and had sometimes the same time a ban even on a trial account when questing to 20 then i stopped with spending money on the game and afther 7 6 months i started an account again and im stil fine im now not botting more then 8 hours a day or 7 and some times i take a break in those hours then logback in and im fine ive already botted 11 classes to 100 evry class in 4 days play time on a high end pve raid server eu alliance

The feeling that Blizzard cant scan beyond their allocated ram serves its purpose in making botting people feel safer.

You cannot take that away from them easily.They won't accept that in good terms.

For all we know, Honorbuddy could be openly detected and these same "all is fine my account is fine" guys would still be defending it.
 
If Honor Buddy was "detected" then EVERYONE here would be banned. Right now all they do is go by player reports. Can they detect a program running? Yes. Are they legally allowed to scan your ram? I don't know. I know there was a discussion about that a few years ago. If you are that concerned, just rename honorbuddy.exe to something else.

Buddy, have ever tried to place yourself in Blizzard position?

So, you have 1 million of botting accounts identified. You suggest to ban them all in an huge banwave instead of doing it along time so people will still buy accounts to keep botting?

The "we would all be banned" statement is ilogical, false and , if you give it a little thought, ridiculous in economical terms, which is what matters in the end.

I honestly think we could work better to identify possible ban reasons if we stop consider Blizzard a retarded child. It's one of the most powerful gaming companies in the world. They are smart.
 
So much controversy over here I am done with honorbuddy this program i loved so dearly is not taking these bans seriously. no to some you havn't got banned yet but who's to say you won't in the near future no one who runs this stuff is saying anything. no investigations are happening and no one keeping us informed. that scares me so farewell, I love you all and for years we had fun. becareful friends miss ya TONY

How in the world do you know that they would necessarily ban EVERYONE? No one of us knows. the bans seem to affect USA mainly, maybe they do it in waves, maybe they want to spread fear, maybe they want to test something, what the fuck ever. blizzard having a way to detect HB is by no means a guarantee for them to ban everyone instantly at the same time. they could do that, but there are also countless reasons on why not to do so.

no one of us knows. the only thing we _know_ is that there are significantly more bans than usually going on.

Those who are saying "oh they wouldn't ban everyone".... I guess you weren't around back in the day when Glider got detected.

As I said in another post.. my best guess is those who got banned were online when the tripwire event hit. HB booted you and you got flagged. Blizzard can easily detect hundreds of accounts logging off at the exact moment a stealth patch went live. That is a guess of mine, but makes much more sense than Blizzard "picking and choosing" who to ban. I've been doing this botting thing for a very long time and I've seen these things happen over and over and over.

You are correct. I didn't notice that. You could use a cloaking app if you really wanted to.

i was. that doesn't mean that the same thing has to happen in exact the same way again. lol... companies might change their ways.

plus glider had way WAY less users than HB has today.

again, no one know. "they would ban everyone" is no valid argument unless you work at blizzard and know it. saying "it happened that way back with glider so it HAS to happen exact the same way today years later" is no valid argument either...
 
It's also not a "valid argument" to say that HB is "detected" or "unsafe" because a few people got banned. And yet the forum keeps filling up with these posts.
 
but most of the people do not say that, thats the difference. most are just being worried and want to know as much as possible about whats going on. there are posts were people spread panic and are convinced the bot IS detected... I agree that those are not necessary. but there's also a lot of people trying to maintain a discussion because something is going on, I think most of us agree on that

and as we do not know if its detected or how, we also do not know if they would necessarily ban everyone like they did back in the days. thats all i'm saying... the fact that not everyone being banned at the same time is not an argument/answer to the question "are they able to detect?"... we have to wait whats happening the next days/weeks i guess

I certainly was playing wow not botting on the Glider ban wave. But we are talking may 2008 right? They had the experience of losing a big amount of subscribers due to it, and had 7 years to progress in their methods.

I wasn't even in the same job 7 years ago. Just saying.
