Hey guys, so it's clearly stated in the ToS that Blizz can scan your computer and if they research into it enough they can see HonorBuddy running on your machine. I've read a few posts from people who have called Blizzard and they said over the phone 100% confident they were botting because they could see honorbuddy running on your machine.

Onto my question...

Is there a program that would "hide" honorbuddy from being seen by Blizzard? Some sort of stealth program or something, hacker stuff...?

I live in Australia and no matter what their TOS say it's illegal for them to do that to me. If they do i could have them arrested/charged for hacking and invasion of privacy. I think you will find that most countries are like this.

After ban.. people try to appeal (Also before sometimes in the email) they say they had found a program concurrently running with WoW, this was found scanning RAM (Random Access Memory) pretty sure i still have an old email.. I'll have a look

Yeah I read that one post too, where the guy said he was talking to a cool Blizzard GM who said he was sorry but he could see his computer had the program running.

Is there someway to hide the program from blizzard? Thats really what i'm getting at here.. even if it was illegal and blizz did it anyway and still banned me, theres not much i could do about it.. Thats why I want to hide the program from their eye.

I have spoken to quite a few GM's while the bot was running. In a BG or Raid and nothing was said about the bot running. hmmmm wonder why that was.

Your World of Warcraft account is currently under a temporary suspension due to a breach of our policies. We have already sent an email with more details but can inform you that the suspension will last for 72 hours at the time of action. You will be able to play again after this time (2015-01-11).

Please note that no further action will be taken if there are no more breaches of the Terms of Use or policies. Check below for more information.

The game client may monitor your computer's RAM and/or CPU processes for unauthorized third party programs running concurrently with the game. At times manual checks may be performed on your character to verify automated movement.

An unauthorized third party program is defined as any third party software (including Addons) that facilitates cheating; intercepts, mines or collects information from the game database; or allows modifying or hacking of the game interface, environment or experience in any way not expressly authorized by Blizzard Entertainment.
This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies (Rules Regarding In-Game and Forum Conduct - Battle.net Support), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing World of Warcraft. These policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players.

Our Battle.net Terms of Use can be found at Blizzard Entertainment: Battle.net Terms of Use. Further information on the different levels of account penalty we can apply is available at

We now consider this matter closed and would not look to enter into further discussion on the subject.

There we go found it

Just saying guys. Because it's in the TOS doesn't make it legal for them to do it lol. That's like me writing the police a letter saying i'm aloud to speed and getting them to sign it. Doesn't mean I can speed.

Go lawyer up then because they've probably done it to a few thousand if not more :)

Is there a way to log scans of process' and programs running to catch them?

Why would I lawyer up? you saying they "Probably" did it to thousands isn't going to make me pull out my tinfoil hat. The fact still is it is illegal in most countries and Blizz wouldn't risk a criminal lawsuit.

Not even going to discuss it, go read the ToS, it's legal. End of.

Consent to Monitor.
DURING YOUR REGISTRATION FOR THE BATTLE.NET ACCOUNT YOU GRANT YOUR CONSENT TO THE FOLLOWING: WHEN RUNNING, THE GAME MAY MONITOR YOUR COMPUTER’S RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM) FOR UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS RUNNING CONCURRENTLY WITH THE GAME. AN “UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM” AS USED HEREIN SHALL BE DEFINED AS ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE PROHIBITED BY SECTION 2. IN THE EVENT THAT THE GAME DETECTS AN UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM, THE GAME MAY (a) COMMUNICATE INFORMATION BACK TO BLIZZARD, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION YOUR ACCOUNT NAME, DETAILS ABOUT THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM DETECTED, AND THE TIME AND DATE; AND/OR (b) EXERCISE ANY OR ALL OF ITS RIGHTS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO THE USER.

Just for you.

Most stupid thing that I read today. In EU and USA (about USA Im only 90% sure) ToS can´t forbid you something, that is allowed to you by law OR they can´t allow to do something that is forbidden by law (for both sides).

Part that you posted is valid, but you are not truly understand what it means. Yes WoW can scan RAM, but only part that is reserved for WoW and WoW can watch, if anything is trying to access that part of memory. Blizz CAN´T scan outside of WoW memory.

They have already been sued and lost a class action suit for process scanning cpu's a number of years ago during hb1 / glider (dont remember witch)

And FYI ToS / EULA are not LEGAL in any world. they are wrapper contracts...meaning you are signing the contract under duress they only get away with it cause they have more money than you therefor the make the rules.

Kid,

Could you be kind enough to educate yourself first, then talk with the mature personalities here, please?

Have a nice eve.

Since several persons already informed you, that these lines are illegal in most of the countries on this planet, it is up to you, to google it, or just act like elephant, which have sitten on his ears!

This is getting ridiculous. Everybody here owns a major in international IT law or what?

1 ) When you sign a ToS, it's a real contract people. You are tied by it. It's not toilet paper.

2) Blizzard can legally check the portion or ram allocated to wow for whatever thing they want to. They could be checking all ram, and we would probably never know it.

3) If they did that, can you please let us know who is gonna spend thousands of dollars to initiate a legal process that , at best odds, it's a coin flip? And against a company that can afford the best lawyers in the fucking universe.
Yeah, you got it!!!. No one is.

Please, separate such concepts as "Blizzard MAY scan your PC" and "Blizzard DOES scan your PC".
And if you claim, that "Blizzard DOES scan your PC" provide accurate evidence, like logs or videos.
Stuff like "got in email", "gm said", "blizz said they scanned me" does have no value, unless Blizz does provide you logs or other type of evidence of their actions (which they won't).

Actually, I have a law degree (note: I am in Europe). And no, no contract can legally bind you to something unlawful.

You are full of crap, stop spreading misinformation.
