Blizzard GMs can just do that?

I received a 6 mo suspension from blizz for running a 3rd party program on the 13th. When I got the email i laughed and sent a picture to all of my in game friends because we all knew it was coming sooner or later. But there were a few strange things that happened after the fact. I hadn't logged into wow since May 4th so they must have done whatever "scanning" stuff they do around that time (or even sooner). So I decided to send a ticket to do the whole "blah blah blah I don't know why my account was banned" just to see if I could get the account back. No dice. Couple days went by and I had heard nothing from them. So I decided to check my tickets on bnet and it showed no notification that my ticket was answered. But when I went into the ticket it said "Resolved". They sent me the copy and paste response that many of you probably got. So my guess was that the GM changed the ticket right to resolved so I couldn't write back. It almost felt like a "take your suspension and run along little boy". Then naturally when they asked to take a survey of my latest GM contact, I let them know what was on my mind. I rated the GM knowledgeable and that they got back to me quick. But what had bugged me was the ticket change. So within the comment section I put:

"I didn't appreciate how the ticket was change to resolved without me doing so. But in honesty you guys put out less and less attractive content and are constantly dumbing down every aspect of the game. This game doesn't have the same allure it once had. Nothing feels earned anymore. I feel like if the content was still desirable to play then there would be minimal botting. I think Blizzard is shooting themselves in the foot with this mass ban. I used a third party program to get through the monotony of boring tasks that give zero effort to do. I log on to wow just as habit and hope something exciting is happening. But it doesn't give the exciting satisfaction that video games should. Thank you guys for the years of fun and for saving me the $90+ in subs over the next 6 months. You guys have lost your path and I won't be returning to WoW and will not be referring anyone to this game at it's current state."

Then yesterday I went back to Bnet to see if they had gotten back to me. To my surprise they completely deleted the ticket from my bnet account. I am saying this because I had sent in a ticket days before my ban asking to restore a profession and they did. I can still see that ticket but not the one about the suspension. Here's the good part (hopefully). When I looked at my WoW license it was changed from "Suspended" to "Banned" I used to be able to check my characters on Bnet and now it won't let me see anything on the account. Is it because the comment I sent with my survey? I just wanted to bounce this off of you guys to see if they can do that. I'm not too upset over it because the only reason I would log into WoW was to bot for gold to hopefully get something cool on BMAH. That was literally my WoW life.

basically, yes. the CS employee can do that. im not exactly sure when the change was made to the ticket system, but i noticed lately that once the GM responds the ticket is marked resolved not allowing me to respond.

From a AMA a GM did a few years ago, he says the surveys greatly impact their jobs. So very very likely they could have done this (deleting your old ticket). But to the change of terms banned/suspended; doesn't sound like part of it. The words are pretty interchangeable in blizzard's phrasing, from my experience.

The point of my post wasn't to complain about being banned/suspended. I even said I laughed a little. It's just kinda fishy that my ticket disappeared and then my account was changed from suspended to banned. I just wanted to ask the community if that was normal or the GM is acting like a baby. The post was also a farewell to honorbuddy and thanking everyone. It's my first and last post, that's all.

I'm not sure what makes you think that they couldn't or shouldn't do that. You broke the terms of agreement, and got hit in a banwave. Blizzard really has no obligation to respond in the first place. Besides, just look at these forums, alot of people are trying to keep bullshitting Blizzard to get their accounts back. If they had to keep tickets going and respond, then there would be no time for actual issues. They are certain in their choice and they have more important things to attend than wasting resources trying to talk to people lying about no botting.

I also admit botting in my ticket, but they didn't perma banned me. He actually seemed to appreciate my honesty; but sadly I guess they weren't allowed to reduce the penalty at all.

Thank you for contacting us, we appreciate that you recognise your actions that led to this situation, and hope that you understand that we take exploitation or cheating seriously. I am unable to do anything for you related to the length of the suspension, but you will be welcome to play again once it elapses on the 13th November.

But they should all work in one line, and if one doesn't, you can appeal this, cause thats ridiculous for perma banning someone for admitting, while others who admits dont get a perma ban. I would appeal the perma ban.

Yea I know they can do whatever they want. But the point is the professionalism in getting butthurt over what I had sent. And I understand the ToS is completely covering their ass. But no player really reads the whole thing. Reminds me of the South Park Humancenipad episode lol. I was just wondering if switching from suspension to banned after getting your feelings hurt was ground upon within he Blizz management.

lets say 200 k got banned. 150 k make a ticket. 100 k makes 2. 50 k makes even 3 and 10 k keeps making untill locked.

how many gms you think blizzard has? You think they diddnt outsource some of this " answering " ?

TBH i don't even think they had a real person answer a vast majority of them. More likely an auto-mated script. Humans answer x amount and program with preset answers answer rest. Let's say only 100k+ people put a ticket once and once only, that's a fucktone of time needed even with only 10 seconds spent on each one. Some people think more than that and some think less but let's take 100k...as it's nice round number to work with

100k*10 = 1000000 seconds = 16666.66666+ minutes = 277+ Hours . That seems like a lot of time to waste to basically tell people to fuck off and suck it up. We should all put in tickets without saying banned or bot and make them non-sensicle like I am stuck on the toilet can you please call my mom so she can come help me up.

If we had a couple hundred people send in the tickets we can find out if it's automated or not. I believe mine was completely automated minus the greeting/closing from the "GM"

It is untrue. I logged into Vanilla wow because I wanted to request for my AH items, which expired and went into the mail to be looted before it expires and forfeited. I started a ticket and a GM replied me that he had logged into my acc and looted the mail. I admitted to botting.

Not sure if showing remorse has anything to do with it. (I hope my typos not giving you aids.)

I am not gonna ask for reinstatement of my wow character nor do I feel the need to send them some anti-privacy notice or cancel remaining subs etc. This is as far as I go, just to leave the door open when I do decide to play again in 6 months. Pessimists will be pessimists, and when they feel the need to turn back on their words they will always come back silently. Who knows, 6 months later there will be some interesting stuff going on like a movie release and a new wave of subs pour in?
