Hi, I'm sorry this is not a typical ban report and I was not sure where to write it.
I've been worrying a lot these days so I'll tell you my story and tell me what do you think. So I restarted to play WoW 1 month before the WoD release. I've already botted before and still do in WoD. But since the last week, something make me feel very insecure about botting since I don't supervise a lot my botting sessions (PS: I am willing to bot under the risk of ban, don't remind me please, it is not about it)
So it started last Tuesday or Wednesday, I was near my computer when it happened, I was using DungeonBuddy to level up a new character and I received a party invitation from a guy named something like *blizzardgm#* with some random numbers. Obviously at first, I thought it was a scam but my curiosity told me to accept the invite anyway, so I accepted and then said the usual greetings, but no answer. After 30 sec, he kicked me from the party and sent me a real ID invitation, his name was like *blizzardgm#*. I declined and blocked the user. I could not see the official blizzard logo or anything so I thought he was just a perfect scammer, and forgot about it.
Lately, the same thing happened to me again, guy named *blizzardgm#* (with random numbers) invited me, but also invited someone from my realm that I didn't know, he seemed surprised too. Again, no answer, got kicked and a real ID invitation.
So I've been thinking that maybe it is a way that blizzard found to check the user activity. If a user accept or decline the invite, that means the user is playing. If no answer, the user is not playing (so botting) or just not answering.
Or am I completely over-reacting? But you have to admit that this is quite unusual.
So here are my actual questions:
1- Do you think they were scammers? For some reason, I can not confirm if they were real blizzard GM.
2- Do you think I should accept real ID invite and try to talk to them?
3- Do this situation happened to you before (or right now)?
4- What if they tested me the same way when I was away? I may have missed those, and can not help myself.
5- Should I take this as a warning, since I am not banned at the moment?
Right now, I'm taking a break from botting because I am not banned (yet) and only have one account.
I usually bot for: GatherBuddy, ArchaeologyBuddy, Questing and DungeonBuddy.
I would appreciate any constructive comments. Thank you for your time!
