BG Botting: Share your advice/tips/setup

Hi guys, I'm new to botting but I had some great success using HonorBuddy to level my warlock from 60 to 85. Right now I'm looking into gearing up, and trading in honor points for justice points seems like the easiest way.

What I'm asking is: does anyone have any advice for botting bgs? I'd love to learn from you more successful botters.



Problems: When I set HonorBuddy to PVP bot, my character just runs around the map looking for dudes to maul. Sometimes I run into a giant mob of Alliance and get pwned, and in AV my character will never make it down to the enemy general. I found CombatHelper to help with targeting issues, but it's only 75% there.

I only recommend BG botting on an AV weekend.
It is harder to notice you out of 40 people.

I also dont have a problem reaching the enemy general in AV.
Best bet is to only BG bot in the 80-84 bracket.

I level from 60-80 using instance buddy or archaeology.

I have 9 toons in all 371 PVP gear with 359 PVP weps. I have afk'd a ton of hours. Here's the same advice I've said every other time. Try a few specs/CC's to see which looks the best. For your Lock, I use Singular with affliction. I use BGbot. Watch it run a few BG's and see how it looks. If it looks super bottish then don't afk it. I have been afk'ing 2 accounts for 9 hours doing the CTA so far today. A pally and a dk. Remember that there are some terrible players out there so a decent looking bot will still look and do better than a bad player. I use the mr. honorcap plugin. If you use that then gem your gear. People look like idiots running around in nice gear and no gems.

Any of those characters rogues? Id like to start doing little pvp for honor/achievements and was wondering whats the best CC for doing bgs and what botbase to use, PVP or BG beta? Thanks

One is a Rogue. I use Apsalar's CC. Works great. I use BGbot usually. If it looks bad I will try PVPbot. Then use the one that looks the best. GL

Thanks for the advice! I tried your setup, and now my lock is doing great with BGBot and Singular -- I die more than others, but I'm #4 on damage. I think I like Singular a little more than Fpsware Warlock for PvP.

Since you're really experienced in this, could you tell me what speccs/CCs you use for different classes? I'm thinking of BGBotting a Druid, Hunter, Shaman, Pally, and DK in the future.

I use Singular for my Aff Lock and 2H Frost DK. Apsalar for my Sub Rogue. EZRet Beta for my Ret Pally. HazzDruid PVP for my Resto Druid. I think I used FPSware for my Suv Hunter but it doesn't do to well once someone gets in melee range. I switched to MM but haven't PVP botted with him yet. Amplify for my Frost mage but wasn't real impressed so I stopped botting after he was geared. FPSware for my Shadow Priest, but again wasn't very impressed. I'll try the ones that didn't work that great and update this post if I can get em to run any better with different specs/CC. I don't have a shaman or warrior so I can't help there.
