Best way to upgrade WoW?

I just started playing WoW for the first time ever. I'm currently on a Starter edition. I might bot WoW later, but just feeling it out for now. I have experience botting d3 using demonbuddy.

My question is: what's the best way to upgrade from the starter edition? I have a link that someone gave for a $10 online battlechest. I would then have to buy Cataclysm and MOP (~$17 and $28 on Amazon now). That's ~$55 total plus taxes, but I would have to wait for delivery of boxes from Amazon.

Alternatively, If I click on one of Blizzard's links to upgrade, it has an option to fully upgrade to MOP for $60.

Counting taxes, both ways cost the same. Is there a cheaper alternative?

5€ battlechest (blizz) + 7.95€ cataclysm (mmoga) + 19.89 mists of pandaria (randyrun)

but I would suggest getting mop keys for gold.

What he could do: "Refer a friend" on himself, so he gets a free month on his refering account, still has to pay normal price for battlechest etc.

I barely know how to play WoW, much less how to bot it. For this reason, I doubt I would make good use of RAF.

That really depends on what you want to do tbh. If you want to play a new game and possibly start botting in the future, then I suggest you take it slow, enjoy the game for a bit and learn what things are different/similar from your other games, then go all out

For example, learn how the AH is different from D3 (fuck yea no posting limit ), learn that in WoW there are instance IDs most of the time that only reset once a day/week so you can't go all out farming 1 particular item for 24/7 like in Diablo.

Best advice I can give to you really is to pick 2 gathering professions for now as you level. Pick either mining/herbalism or mining/skinning. This will be your money maker when starting from scratch.

You could also look to GET RAFed by someone on mmo champion or ownedcore has posts for it. Some people even offer to help you out by buying the game for you. Most of them have lots of experience in the game so they can give you money/bags/tips to help you level.
