Best way to increase ilvl with the bot ?

BG buddy or dungeon/instance buddy ?
Im looking to get a few of my undergeared characters up to whatever i need for LFR as soon as possible.

Should i leave them on BG buddy for some quick armour or can i put it in a dung and gain item level that way ?

Soon as my toons ding 85 they get full vicious gear and I use Honor to get them ruthless geared, you can usually get them into LFR just from vicious gear though.

I did this but i keep getting kicked out of lfr because i cant keep my dps up high,
im sure gear has something to do with it, but im playing classes i have never played before so that could be why
