Best way to gain profit from mining/herb without a huge ban chance?

Hello there,

I bought Honorbuddy for about 3 months back, and I've been using it a lot since, mainly to level up my alts and to gain some honor.

However, lately I've started using Gatherbuddy, and I havent botted for materials since WotLK.

So, I kinda have a luxury problem as of now; I'm stuck with about 200 stacks of Green Tea Leaf and probably about 100 stacks of other herbs, incl. 100 pieces of Golden Lotus and I have no good idea how to shuffle this into money.

Is putting them on the AH too big of a risk?

I also have quite a lot of Ghost Iron Ore, but I think I'll just prospect it all, make rings, disenchant rings and use the mats for enchantment.

Or could it work to put the ores straight up on AH?

Anyways, I would really love some advice. I have all skills maxed out except blacksmithing, skinning and leatherworking, so if Alchemy/Inscription is an idea to shuffle the herbs, please give me any viable guides.

Sure its possible to get banned from using the bot to post items on the ah, or just doing it manually, just don't post too much, I've been posting stacks of 10-15 of ore/herbs on the ah for years, haven't been banned for it, just don't over do it like you see some people do such as posting 50 stacks of the same item, also a common rule amount bothers is not to post more than 100 auctions total, me I don't like to do more than 50.

Right now it seems the majority of bans are from gathering, that's where you have to be super careful.

They seem to have got a "smarter" detection/statistic tracker running in wow to try and "detect" pure botters, ie patterns, nodes per hour blah blah

All about common sense at end of the day;

I havent GB for a while but when i did i monitor'd it, if i saw another botter, i stopped for abit/paused - would bot couple hours then leave everything in a mailbox, then sell them on the next day or put in a guild bank;
Then leave it for like a week before doing it again;

Start slow and small, develop a pattern / size of posting, then scale a little more.

Put 5 to 10 up for a while, don't throw 30 or 40 up there.

You can mill / prospect and shuffle some to add variation and more profit to cut your supply down faster and post more varied auctions.

do NOT create patterns. act human.

post what you got & want to sell. if you got 50 stacks, sell em. any human would do so.
pause a day or something.
play a day for 10 hours.
play a day for 1 hour.
vary your stuff - don't gather 10 hours.

I agree with random, the point I was trying to make is: don't show up on the scene posting 200 stacks of 20 out of nowhere, undercutting all competition by 1c 10 seconds after being undercut 3 hours straight. There are some people who take notice...

The point of 5 to 10... you don't want to drive your market down either. 30 or 40 won't sell before being undercut with a few sales.

You can have a strategy, that's human as well.

Coming from someone who has lost his main account and another account from Gatherbuddy, id say the only smart way to go about using it is using the randombuddy plugin and using 1 - 24 hours every couple days, I myself farm for about 12 hours each few days and post EVERYTHING, unless im saving some things for the next patch no human would save mats much (Temptation would take over) if you need things to lower your supplies to look less dodgy you could always mill the herbs and transmute the bars from the ore into trillium or living steel (Not mentioned in the above graphs..)

and vary your gathering. go run a profile in ungoro for a day, then two days later go cobalt. its what real people do. have a prospector break em down and put the gems in the mail to an alt. play like a human is the best advice ever

Yeah, didn't read this until now.

Long story short; botted without using my head. Got a lot of gold quickly (have never really earned that much before), about 25k over 3 days.

Got perm banned 6 hours ago; took me about three hours to write my appeal thorougly, as its my main account. Blizzard replied after 1 hour with:

Thank you for contacting us regarding this issue.

I have investigated this incident and found that the penalty was applied correctly. Because this was the first time you were found to be doing this I have changed the ban to a 72 hour suspension instead. You'll be able to play again once that time has passed. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
