I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this problem, or if anyone could point me in the right direction of a good configuration for Insanity. I bought the premium version and it's been working wonderfully, except that I noticed something the other day, and may lose my spot on a heroic team because of it. I pull 250 - 270k consistantly.. that is until we get to Garrosh. Normal, flex, it doesn't matter. I only get to about 180k dps on that fight and I can't figure out why. I've even put my info into simcraft, and changed it to a light movement fight since we stack through both phases and it still says I should be doing about 258k. I'm about to lose my mind figuring this out. ): Also, if this isn't the right place to put this I'm sorry. >.< Are shadow priests just really bad?

if it were me, id see what real world spriests are doing on the fight. go to world of logs, or the newer warcraftlogs websites. check out your class for the fight you want info for. then armory those players and check out their gear setup, see if you are doing something different. i know world of logs would show a chart for dps over the length of a fight so you know when to use your trinks, procs, pots and so forth.

i assume since your on a HC raiding team , you know this already, but who knows, back to basics might help you explain to your raidleader why your dps is what it is.

Shadow priests are OP in PVP right now and exceedingly weak in PvE. I have a 575 shadow priest and it pulls very low numbers.
I have a 577 Warlock, and I pulled the same numbers as my priest, not at 577, but at 566 ilvl. I've pulled 1M DPS on Galakras mobs with my preist, but unless it's AOE or multi target, shadow priests are shitty. Single target fights are very tough on dps. I pulled 300K single target at 575, warlock pulls 400K-500K single target.

Garrosh is a different story because of multi-dotting and Mind Sear. There are always adds to kill.

Shadow priests can't have high power output though because of their survivability. Power Word Shield, Vampiric Embrace, mind flay slows others down, Devouring Plague heals, vampiric touch gives back mana...If shadow priests were any more powerful they'd turn into the warlocks of this expansion.

Everyone would have 5-6 shadow priests and 1 healer and just shield themselves, pop vamp embrace, and burst through all the high damage mechanics. They had to make them unappealing otherwise they'd be hella OP. Especially in the Dark Shamans fight.
