Best profs for best net gain

What professions would be great for a good amount of gold. I don't really have gold to start with.

if you could, could you name a pair of profs, and maybe a reason why?

Mining/Herb is ALL I do. Private buyers + AH, I never dip below 150k unless I am selling

I levelled up all profs some several times on one account, if the herb/ore market hits a low sell point I can capitalise on it and make bank, otherwise I just sell what I gather.
