Best gear/where to get

So I have recently just started back up playing Diablo and using demonbuddy and I was just wondering with the new expansion and new patch. What and where is the best place to get gear? Is it all random just keep doing runs? If so where and what difficulty. I can't seem to get past 500k damage and I feel my gear isn't even all that good. Also what is the best thing to do to get the best gear I did adventure mode for a few days got a lot of levels and stuff, but I think the rifts drop better stuff is that correct? Are the greater rifts what you really want to be doing? I am so confused if someone could spare a minute to explain any help is greatly appreciated thank you

EDIT: Is the bloodshard vendor maybe the best way to get gear? I was just reading something on that

Take a look around the forums. You will surely find the answers you desire.

My best suggestion is to find the answers on your own that way you will be able to find the avenues to the latest and greatest information for DB.

Here is some information I posted in the riftbot thread, but the devs of that profile recommend that you still use Questtools 2.074 or whichever one is included in their compilation:

Mine has been picking up keystones of trials, not sure what settings you have right now in your items tab? Maybe take a picture of your settings and post it?

I'm running:
Latest Trinity 2.1.4 AND Questtools 2.0.91a
Latest plugin armory
Latest stable DB release
Latest Riftbot

Installed as follows:
A new stable copy of DB
Deleted default Trinity and Questtools
Placed Trinity and Questtools with the newest versions from post above
Placed Gearswap files from riftbot (I did not use the trinity or questtools, just the profile and gearswap)
Placed Armory files into Plugins
Placed riftbot profile folder

Started DB for first time on that install
Opened riftbot readme file, followed the instructions [other than the ones involving the trinity and QT folders.]
Did the DB settings listed in readme.
Closed DB, deleted compiled assemblies, etc, etc.


NOTE: I DON'T PICKUP WHITES, BLUES or RARES BECAUSE I ALREADY HAVE A FULL STASH TAB OF THEM.

When reopening DB, I went back in to the settings on the ITEMS tab.
I have "misc item level" set to Common+

I have set the following to NONE or 0
Pickup Grays, Pickup Whites, Magic weapons/armor/jewelry, Rare weapons/armor/jewelry, Magic/rare follower items.

I also have everything except legendaries set to SELL instead of salvage for when one does get picked up.

I give that long explanation because I am not picking up hardly anything due to my settings, but it is still picking up keystones of trials. I have hundreds of them.

My assumption is that your problem is Trinity based, not Riftbot based.

Try installing a new folder the way that I did, using newer Trinity and QT rather than the ones mentioned in the original post.

It sounds that you are too eager...
Ill set your expectation, it will take time to get a well geared toon.
Like what TwoCigar said, it would be best to read the profile section and decide what you want your bot to do.
Also, know your limitation, if you cant do torment yet then stick with a lower difficulty.
I started just letting DB get more paragon level, this will really make things easier.

Get to 70 and use the chest runner for a good week. IT should get your enough gear to really start pushing torments.

When you get to the point you can do T6 reliably then T6 rifts will give the most bang for your buck for drops. I hove between 6-8 legs per hour doing T6 rifts.

I got gear within 2 days of hitting 70. Full muroders. But that is just stupid rng luck. But I still have yet to get the pot and taskers gloves since the start of seasons.

Also I run the rift bot 24/7
