Is there a chance i could get my main account banned if i use a VPN to bot accounts on the same PC? if so, whats the chance?

also, how long do they usually take to update the bot for a new patch?

The chance is exactly 62.8057% ;)

Now seriously, the VPNs could usually give you ban even without botting on the account, so keep it slow with them.

The majority of the popular VPNs IP ranges are already blacklisted by the cyber security companies, since a lot of people use them for fraud activities, so Blizzard definitely are aware of these IP ranges, and once you login from such IP, the server would flag the account initially, before any botting is performed.

would a vpn matter if i used another pc on same network?

Within my recollection, Blizzard never banned accounts being on same IP or even registered on same person or e-mail. Botted account - Banned account. No mess with accounts from same IP.
Maybe they will try to check if other accounts under same IP were botting, but nothing more. No evidence on this exact account being botted or cheated - no ban, even if it was being played under the IP of 10 other banned accounts.

well my main concern isnt ip, someone told me that there is a chance of botting on the same pc you play you main, cause they can detect if you have it on your pc and ban you for it. mostly wanted to know if this is true or not.

According to EULA paragraph 4. CONSENT TO MONITOR:
A GAME MAY MONITOR YOUR COMPUTER'S RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM) FOR UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS RUNNING CONCURRENTLY WITH THE GAME. AN "UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM" AS USED HEREIN SHALL BE DEFINED AS ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE PROHIBITED BY SECTION 1(C)(ii) ABOVE. IN THE EVENT THAT THE GAME DETECTS AN UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM, (a) THE GAME MAY COMMUNICATE INFORMATION BACK TO BLIZZARD, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION YOUR ACCOUNT NAME, DETAILS ABOUT THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM DETECTED, AND THE TIME AND DATE; AND/OR (b) BLIZZARD MAY EXERCISE ANY OR ALL OF ITS RIGHTS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO THE USER.

So as far as I understand, it controls only programs that are RUNNING CONCURRENTLY WITH THE GAME, meaning the other processes are not involved, but as long as it scans all the COMPUTER'S RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM), parallel processes may suffer.

There is nothing about scanning installed programs or your hard drive, computer specs etc. And nothing about IP's.

To be safer if you feel a bit paranoid, do not launch bot when your main account is running, but sequential (not parallel) playing will be good.
The best way to do is install game + bot on a dedicated VM, so that will be 100% safe to play in parallel as long as you do not launch bot out-of-the-VM (within the same OS that your main account is being played)

thanks, thats very helpful, also do i need to run a vpn on the VM?

do i need to run a vpn on the VM?

Not neccesary. As I said, Blizzard pay no attention on IP. I got my secondary account banned (was running on second PC), but others are safe though my IP is static for about 5 years already.

If you are feeling too paranoid, you can use it if it does not affect your connection speed (that is mostly does not affect clear botting) and primarily if you have some private VPN (as no one trusts public IPs). But it is really unnecessary. Just to save your nerves.

btw, i wanted to ask, how often a day do you bot to not get caught?

i have 1 other question that i couldnt find out for sure, if you use a vpn on a VM does the VM and your normal pc have the same ip for the VPN or does the vpn only effect the VM? even though i know most say that ip doesnt matter that much, just the accounts you use the bot on, i was just curious for future use.

Here's me experience so far w/ HB.
1 ban, and thats because I was botting 12 hours a day afk.
After that I learned, if you're botting just to farm for $$$ then get a secondary account but if you bot while checking up on it every hour or so or bot while doing work, you'll be fine. Just check on the bot every here and there to make sure its working. Bots arent perfect, and never will be.
