Been banned or received a warning?

I just wanted to know if anyone, as of yet, had been banned or warned for using a bot? While I understand there are risks associated with any and all botting in any game you choose to do it in, I like to be aware of the current climate of the game I intend on botting in. This game a had a massive ban wave a few months ago and I know that Final Fantasy XI was extremely strict about buying/selling Gil and botting so it doesn't come as any surprise that they will/have been as strict in this game. I only use bots for personal use not for the purpose of making money or the like. I hate leveling once I've done it, heh.

So what I'm looking for is just an all call if you've been banned or warned.

The "massive" banwave you are referring to is regarding RMT Spamming. Majority of the accounts that were banned were spamming IMs regarding RMT services. Others that were banned were RMT themselves who were using teleport hacks and speed hacks to mine shards quickly.. XIV 2.0 had a rough start at the beginning with server code not being great that allowed alot of illegal activity in the game, such as not verifying packets, not verifying location updated (teleport hacks) .. None of the bans were related to people who were botting "legit" as in running to waypoints/hotspots etc. Some of the people who claim they were banned for no reasons were most likely due to high amounts of income within a short amount of time (not verified though). IF RB is anything like HB is, it wont be detected server side meaning that manual investigation would be needed to verify you as a bot or not. Just bot safe, and dont let it run for days on end.

Of course, I would recommend custom profiles and stay away from the ones that get downloaded from everyone here.. this is an easy way to notice you as a bot. RB has made it easy to make your own profiles for gathering/grinding.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I really don't bot much to speak of and as far as making tons of profits goes, the market on my server fluctuates more than anything I've seen to date. It's hard to make steady income without bargain selling everything I gather.

The best way at the moment to make gil, at least on my server is through materia.. especially crafter materia.. but prices fluctuate so much on that as well.. one day tier 2 materia will sell for 15k each, other days its down to 3k each.. but when spiritbinding about 80 materia a night you tend to get a stock to just sit and wait for prices to go back up.

They need to make dungeon/raid gear be able to meld materia to... not many people want to waste money on 2 star gear just to meld to get coils gear, when DL gear is equivalent in most cases

While they did get better with their packets, its far from perfect lol, you can still level all your crafting classes to 50 very quickly by sending the craft completed XP packet, and you can also send the sequence of packets that happen during a Triple Triad game to simulate wins over and over, plus tons of other stuff. Regarding teleporting, it is risky but they don't verify locations lol, other wise my ~32 bots wouldn't have been around this long, at least 16 of them a day are teleport hacking in dungeons for 24 hrs or more.(Obliviously not using RB for this)

But all in all, I have no bans or warnings to date on my main or my bot farm.

While they did get better with their packets, its far from perfect lol, you can still level all your crafting classes to 50 very quickly by sending the craft completed XP packet, and you can also send the sequence of packets that happen during a Triple Triad game to simulate wins over and over, plus tons of other stuff. Well, this is a heck of a necro thread.. eh?
I know that teleport hacking is still alive and well, as can be seen with minion's teleport hack, Speedhacking is still alive and well with Leviathan Helper which can do other fun client sided stuff, like camera distance and sprite size.
However, I wasn't aware that you could manipulate packets for exp gain, I assume that is very much more detectable and ban worthy than doing it psudo-legit as we do with RB.

There's sure to be many-a-more hacks/exploits that can be abused, seriously.. Would have though square would be doing a little bit better at stopping straight forward client hacks. Oh well.

As for the thread at hand... I've a very complete character at this point, most of which was not done by hand, Obviously stuff like class quests aren't fully supported in questing scripts, so that's one of the few things I will go and actually do. But to be able to say 4/5ths of my account was leveled/geared thanks to RB is pretty impressive, and of course, no bans or warnings.

I've never had an issue botting shards or crystals, I've probably farmed something like 500,000 shards/crystals on only one character.

I would have to agree with Tinytox, I have gathered multi-million shards/crystals/clusters, and no issues on any of them, and my gathering bots run 24/7

Be veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery very careful. >.>;

You could spoof your IP and then if you get in trouble claim you were hacked, I can't promise that will save you but it might not be a bad idea.
Or, use a trial account, spoof your IP with a VPN or proxy service, and then start playing with it.

The idea is obviously to try to protect your account as much as possible if you really want to play with it. For me, though, I'm cool with just using RB to do is psudo legit.

Just do the crafting in your personal house or some place no one else can come and see you, during the process you will stand up many times and it doens't look legit lol
