BC/WotLk Worth farming?

On my server our AH is stacked with end game herbs/ores and prices seem to be dropping everyday. So I wanted to ask if anyone here makes any profit from farming older nodes? Since they aren't much in stock anymore, and people are always leveling up new profs.

I did this with some BC herb back in WOTLK days, took a very long time to sell and they didn't got for much more than end game herbs. I would suspect that although they are not being farmed, lowbies are leveling and picking them up to sell. Less demand being fulfilled by those only in the market for a tiny bit.
