Some data was illegally accessed, including a list of email addresses for global Battle.net users, outside of China. For players on North American servers (which generally includes players from North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia) the answer to the personal security question, and information relating to Mobile and Dial-In Authenticators were also accessed. Based on what we currently know, this information alone is NOT enough for anyone to gain access to Battle.net accounts.
so basically blizzard has released a statement saying that someone has been able to get access to a lot of information people shouldn't of been able to get access to, more importantly your e-mail address for the battle net account, and the Secret question and answer and for some reason they think they couldn't reset your password and get into your account with that information alone? regardless its important to now play that game of changing your passwords to your bot accounts.

you can find more information on the security breach here.

at this time it might be a good time to think about using some kind of password manager if your not using one, Such as Keepass. KeePass Password Safe i use this to keep all my account information secure as well as generate random passwords for my e-mails and battle, net accounts, it also can store images so i keep images of my cd-keys and other information as well. in this day and age its important to be security conscious and one way to do it is to use a password manager.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm on Europe servers here and only came back to the game the day before yesterday (after 18 months out).

Lucky lucky! :)
