Banning non-botting involved friends?

Hey! First of all I would like to say that i just love honorbuddy! bought it a couple of months ago and its just awesome, i was botting some back in the days, using glider, and god damn botting has evolved much since then!

Now to my question: im botting pretty stupid, like atleast 16 hours/day, but im not overflowing ah or anything like that, its just that "I" play much..and yesterday, when blizzard had a small patch going i wasn't at home and after maintence my relogger started wow and logged in to continue to farm, without updating honorbuddy to the newest released version..used the old version for about 12 hours before i got home and discovered the new version and updated it. I don't know how much it could affect not using the latest version but i have a feeling that a ban is in the air. SO, i mail alot of raw-materials (ores) to a friend of mine who prospects/transmutes and sells gems on ah, so IF I get banned, will this in any way affect him? Im also stacking up all my gold on his guildbank so I dont have to lose all the gold aswell. I'm asking this because I dont know what to do if a perm-ban on his well-played account would occur, I simply cant replace all the rare not available things anymore he got from the expansions over the year..+ all the wellgeared chars etc..

I don't think that u get banned for using an 1 patch old bot...
Maybe, I'm wrong but the chance for getting banned is higher if u bot much as if u bot with an old bot.

honestly dude if he isnt botting their is a SLIM at best chance he'll get banned and if he does it will ONLY be a 72hr suspension and/or a gbank wipe at WORST. When i ran my raiding guild i had 4-5 bots in the guild ahing farming etc and putting the gold in the gbank. I sold easily 200 - 300k gold a day week to guildies and it took blizzard well over a year to trace it all through the guild and when they did it they banned my bots aswell as my account and my guildies(i was away for the weekend when this happend) 2 of my mates straight up emailed blizzard with something along the lines of 'wtf are we banned for gold selling we are all real life mates and everything in the guild bank is for all of us to use'. within 3 hrs the accounts where unbanned and we just continued on with no more issues. my point is unless blizzard is 110% sure that ur mate is doing something wrong he will get a very easilbly contestable issue. as for u the patch dont mean shit because HB wouldve been taken down if there was a detection issue downloading or not downloading a patch dont mean squat so dw to much about it if u get a ban contest it like most of us do with a bullshit story about 'ur son was playing etc etc' and trust me i used it many times to get outa hot water and yes he actually does play on my botting accounts so its essentially not lieing either lol anyways good luck and dont stress

Not true, today I just had 2 irl friends and my little brother banned by me sending mats to them and helping them buy items from ah so they were geared to raid (they had never previously botted etc.) They all played accounts normally and a lot to gear characters etc. Yet.... today I had 3 accounts banned that I have botted on never more than 8 hours a day for exploiting economy/3rd party shit anddd they got owned aswell. All 3 are pissed hahahah

Thanks for the answers guys! I was glad to read about "incognitto"'s post about maximum possible would be a 72 hours ban, i think he can live with that beacuse all the gold I help him earn

I would like share with you guys about mail/trade with different account. Doing this will somehow increase the chance to get banned with reason of abusing economy. This is what happened to me in the past. I have 2 accounts, 1 bot and 1 not-bot. I was stupid by trade the mats from bot account to my main account. I did that and in about 1 day, I got ban from my bot account of abusing economy. I don't sell gold at all, I use HB just for my personal entertainment. I emailed them and in first email they stated that I sold mats for the real money, and I said I didn't. They said they had proof. I told them that I own these 2 accounts and you can see it if checking payments. I got unbanned after that. So I learned my lesson, but then I made another mistake when I sent back to my bot to do AH. I did type wrong the name my toon and end-up sending a lot of mats to someone else. When I found out I sent to wrong person and I contacted that person to try to recover my items. He refused to return those to me. When trying to contact him, I got banned on my main for the same reason. And I explained to them that I sent to the wrong one and was trying to get it back. They checked the log and unbanned me, and also returned all those items to me. After these 2 incidents, I found out that if you trade with anyone in-game in one-way, there is chance you will get banned, but can be unbanned if giving them the good reason. So what I do now is renting 2 tabs from 1 of the guild master so these 2 chars can be in the same guild to exchange mats. I'm safe since then and it's almost a year now.
