Banned for using AH?

I'd like to know if anyone has ever got caught selling gold while using the AH as a buffer to not get caught?

This will make you lose 5% from the AH cut, but seems to be safer imo.

You can transfer the gold from your farmer account to your vanilla account this way and then sell it with your vanilla account without worries of losing your 80.

Seems better than using the guild bank since there is less interaction between the 2 accounts.

PS: Has anyone been banned for selling gold after 48hrs of doing so?

I would have to say its less likely to get ban with the ah because I'm always sending large amount of gold to both my accounts (got to love better prices on the other faction)

You know this for a fact, has it happend to you?

If you're flooding the AH with stuff someone gets pissed of and reports you "ow ma gwad fomeone killthz all thaa prixzes, zomfg must be a botthhaaa" and maybe you are doomed^^

Thats good to hear! how often do you do this? (use AH and then sell)

Anyone else know if this seems to be a good way to avoid the banzorz?

There is no ultimate way to avoid a ban. It's more depending on your luck than on a good plan.
I heard about ppl who juped arround in Stromwind, flooding the /2 with "Hey I'm a bot, go 200000 Gold and selled half a million - Ban me GM Suckers!!!!" and nothing happend.
Also I heard about verry carefull ppl who getting banned because of mailing 20k to an other account.

So why allways people think there is an swoopdawoop-ultimate-way to keep them selfs away of getting banned?
Do you think GMs acting like they had a scipt?

Detect Bot - beep
Checking Mails - beep
Checking GBank - beep
Checking Gold - beep
Checking Quests - beep
Checking Onlinetime - beep

You will get banned - beep

Nope, they are humans just like us with all of our weaknes and all of our strengths.
Sure they have guidelines but they are guidelines and they don't allways follow them.

There are way to get around most of the possible bans... especially if you multi account on 1 server (ie: high demand servers)

Now you can never get passed the "in-depth investigation" which is whats happening this month as i've seen multiple big botters including myself get an ass-raping from blizz... but hey, if you bot, do NOT expect to keep accounts.

The safest way that I kept out of the ban-spree (multi accts on 1 server) was:

act normal, play your toons sometimes, raid, group, etc. yes it may lose you 2-3k but would you rather lose 50k and an acct?
if you're going to be mailing/depositing items cross-accounts, trade large amounts of cash regularly with each other... i would sometimes trade 200k from all of my accounts -- yes they eventually got banned 5 months down the road, but it kept the ban stick away... again, unless its an investigation (in depth) then you should be ok. if ppl group regularly and trade items/gold a lot (especially crafters / guildies) then there may be a flag, they look and say "oh they're guildies, and he's the guild JC ... k - next flag"

I stayed away from the AH until recently ... as i had private buyers until FL went down =( so i started putting them on ah, which is prob why i got reported

again, most of the time its due to player reports. especially other DB botters who report. yes, theres a lot of other botters that report you b/c its their income on the line as well... which is retarded.

read the boards, theres tons here

Okay...

So here are my thoughts about how the "ban" system works.

There are like.. 14 millions wow players?
i doubt that blizzard has enough staff to look into toons even in monthly basis...

so.. In MY opinion, they mainly use 3 ways of "ban-ing"
First : Player reports. when you get reported more than xx times > the system automatically sends a report to the department responsible of investigations. and they decide if you're guilty as charged or not.
Second : Automated "scans". as i've mentioned before.. there are 14 millions players. So to ease the process, they have an automated system that scans for certain things.. (not really sure about this one.. but it sounds logical to me)
Third : Detection. Worst and most vicious way to get banned with... They do it every few months when some bot/hack get's used by too many people.. they don't do it often cause botters/hackers bring them a good chunk of their money.

Most of the bans we see diverse either from the First or the Second methods.
If you think you got banned for using the AH "solely" you're wrong!
It's because you got reported more than once (at least) for flooding/screwing the economy. (also i'd like to point this out...Do not use the same toon you farm with to AH with.)
And don't name your AH toon something like "Imabot" or "Asdfjhsd" or anything close to that...

There has been only 1 detection in the buddy products history, but we didn't have the Tripwire back then... hopefully it will do the job when we get hit by the next banwave (which i think is coming sometime soon)

All what i can tell you is this...
There isn't a "magical" way to avoid bans.
As long as you bot/hack you WILL get banned sooner or later, the risk is always there, you've just been lucky enough to last this far.
All you can do.. is Lay low and try to stay under the radar while enjoying the botting experience. (wearing a tinfoil hat might help.)

PS: sorry if my reply is a bit too long =p

Code:

And that?s the geeky way of saying it.

Damn you for quoting me before i finished typing it xD

It was regarding Zooms post.

A "ficticious" code that reflects everything he said, but fully automated xD
