Banned for selling gold (No mention of botting)

Well I just checked an old mail and I noticed one of my accounts got banned.

Funny thing is, I didn't pay for the account any more and 3 months after the account was frozen it got banned (this was before new year)

The reason they said was selling gold. I never really sold gold besides give away free herbs and ore in guild bank. And never gave anyone any gold.


Even worth trying to get account back? I do have quite a bit of gold there though

If you never sold gold on the account i would appeal. I even got my main account (9 years old) back easy that was used for gold selling. Yee i know, sounds silly to use an old account for it.
In the appeal i just said that i never sold gold on it. Kept the appeal very short and to the point that it was there fault. It took days for a gm to investigate the matter, they failed to find the evidence of any gold trade. The response of what they found was even more bullshit of certain methods i actually never used.... the whole matter was kinda odd near the end. Got it back asap even without 72 suspension.

Its worth the try, yea!

But keep in mind, the GMs not always pick the correct ban mail, so sometimes they just act weird and funny.

For example 2 weeks ago a mate of mine, who was farming Cata zones with 10+ GB2 bots got IP Ban for Abuse of Economy, with the weirdest reason: He was catched for duping items and gold.

After several appeals either by phone/live chat/offline ticket, they was still "confirming their initial foundings" etc. that he was duping gold, which is the most funny and stupid excuse, indeed!

The point, from mine point of view is:
Its obvious on their side, that he was botting for profit, with so many accounts linked, but they cannot prove it (Means they have not tracked the goldselling part so far from the logs), so they are trying to escape with such silly ban reason!

Maybe your acc was hacked. I recieved the same mail some weeks ago after I logged into it via a p r o x y using a chinese IP. (Forgot to deactivate it)

After talking to a GM he told me that my acc is locked because someone tried to acess it and the IP is marked with gold selling. Propably someone tried to log in using a free ***** IP.

Got mine back after 2 min with a link to reset my pw.

Just apply and write that you did not use the acc and recieved the email. Chances are very high getting it back.

Mine bots alle the time since then.
