Banned after 4 years of successful botting - 12 March 2014

I don't usually get caught up in the "ban wave" banter, but I have to say that something more is coming down the pike in terms of bot detection. While I had a good run of 4 years of STRAIGHT botting, I was finally caught. I've been a lurker here for years but I see that the waters seems to be getting a whole lot warmer and the ban reports are coming at a higher rate than usual. That being said, it may still be safe but it sure seems that Blizzard has a tiger team together for banning botters. Perma ban, 2 appeals, no dice.

I think this too but there's not enough bans to provide a clear definitive that something has changed in their detection mechanisms.

I think what you're seeing has more to do with an increased amount people botting than an increase in ban detection.

Guys you can't possibly infer anything about ban waves because you don't have enough data to make such a calculation as to if there is more bans at a certain time or not.
