***Notice of Account Closure***

Account Name: ***
Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Impact of Buying Gold - Services - World of Warcraft

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment:Blizzard Legal Documentation. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure.

If you believe your account was compromised, please go to the following website https://us.battle.net/account/support/account-recovery.html. Our support staff will assist you as soon as possible. If you are unable to access your account due to the password being changed, please visit our Login Support site here: https://us.battle.net/account/support/password-reset.html

For any disputes of this action or further information on exploitive activity, please visit the Account Administration Overview and contact page here: http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/300515

Looks like they just did a sweep, one of my accounts got closed at the same time for the same reason

they just hit me up to I am trying to find out whatever information I can get

I am def going to appeal what is the best thing I should say

same here, same time. Now this account botted VERY LITTLE. Gathered herbs and mined, about 2 hours max per session with longs breaks in between, entire night offline. only was lvl 90 for like 4 days.

damn how the hell did they catch on so fast

I appealed saying in summary that I got banned and that I dont understand why since I have never traded gold for real-world currency, and that all the gold I've made rencently is still on my character.

Sorry for your loss mate, is this US or EU?
EDIT : nvm mate, i was sleepy didnt see the last line :).

Really hope you get your account back.

This is the latest response from Customer Support:
Greetings,

Thank you for your follow-up email. An additional review of the previously communicated action taken against the World of Warcraft account (***) on (***) has been completed. Unfortunately, we have confirmed our initial findings. The account action will not be reversed or amended.

We base all of our actions on the severity of the violation, and take previous violations into consideration. This action has been taken in accordance with the Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use) and our In-Game Policies (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/20309), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to participation.

While we understand that you may disagree with some of the policies or conditions, the bottom line is that they allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment.

We hope this has resolved any concerns you may have had. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Blizzard Entertainment

Don't email them, call them up on the phone and plead your case. It's a lot more effective on the phone because it's a lot easier to say "no" through email.

Trying to call today, I'm surprised they would complety close my accout for posting 100 auctions (nothing says in their mail that I was botting).

Arn't they supposed to go through the "volcano" pyramid when they ban ppl for offenses, unless abuse of economy is a super big offense that puts you into the last step of the pyramid ??

As usual the phone support isnt of much help, but the guy on the phone was cool, and said he could speed up the process of responding my ticket by a GM. He told to me explain what I have been doing (posting more auction than usual and I didn't know it was a problem) and it should be easier to dispute the ban.

Good luck. I guess its just time before my bot gets banned. Im trying to level my fishing so i can farm fish also for a period of time

Ok it worked, can I consider this like a final warning ?

Thank you for contacting us concerning the recent action taken against the World of Warcraft account ***. After a thorough review of the circumstances involved in this action, the account has been reopened and access restored.

Please take a few moments to look over the World of Warcraft Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:World of Warcraft Terms of Use), as we take matters involving the integrity of the game environment very seriously. Please understand that should another incident of this nature arise in the future, it is possible that a different outcome will be reached, up to and including Account Closure.

The Terms of Use state that you will not "...modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Game Client or the Service in any way not expressly authorized by Blizzard" or "...use cheats, automation software (bots), hacks, mods or any other unauthorized third-party software designed to modify the World of Warcraft experience..." Additionally, the Battle.net Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:Battle.net Terms of Use) state that "You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the Login Information, and you will be responsible for all uses of the Login Information, including purchases, whether or not authorized by you."

Thank you for your continued correspondence in regards to your account and for respecting our position.

I would appeal again but call them, not via e-mail. I would ask for details and state that you did nothing wrong.

In order to remove any bad comment on that accout for any future possible ban, or just to prevent another problem ?
