***Notice of Account Closure***

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

I usually bot for 8 hours at night. I watch it for a while before I go to sleep and then check it before I leave. I got home and I logged out as normal. Logged onto my other character to finish leveling some things and that was fine as well. I went afk and thought I got logged out of inactivity but then when I tried to log back in it says my account is banned.

Honestly, I never had issues when I farmed in Twilight Highlands. I really think it has to do with my server being highly populated and me using Uldum. Not sure though. Wait time for the phone is 88 minutes and its driving me nuts. I had a good thing going with it and I hope I can get the account back.

That sucks, i do same profile as well and same amount of time 8 hours, i put it on before i go to bed and wake up and turn it off. I've never had any problems. I dont use shutUp , Anti-Drown, LetMeFly cause i've never been stuck...anyway. Badluck man.

Yeah, I am on hold, hopefully I can get the account back... but I don't know if I should pretend I wasn't playing and someone must have been on my account or just say it was me and I was playing all day long.

Anyone know what the best responses are?

Well, I got lucky and Blizzard restored my account completely. Now, the thing that makes me wonder is, I wonder if someone reported me and that is what led them to ban. They didn't reduce the ban they just took it off completely and the account is restored. If they had a bot detector, I am assuming they would have just reduced it to a 72 hour or something.

Also, I was able to get a lot of information from the gentleman on the phone. When they get flags of a bot from numerous reports or AHing, he said they have ways to watch your actions and make assumptions as to if you are using a third party software based on your movements. I am assuming that click to move might be one of those things they look for. He also mentioned that every account is treated separately and that Blizzard will not penalize on account for what another account did connected to the e-mail. So reports about entire battle.net bans are erroneous. He stated Blizzard would never punish someone for using the conveniences they provided such as linking accounts through the system.

Here is the exact e-mail from Blizzard:

but idk that my profiles are so much overused, i got banned to because of flooding the AH (very silly :D but my 3 other accounts got banned too because of gold selling but i sold no gold). I think Blizzard look out very hard for botters now. Be careful and don't bot to much! They clean up because of Mist of Panderia.

I would never use the bot for AHing, obviously way way too risky. Sure the feature might be nice but even if you are being a serious botter trying to get the most out of your money you should take to learning how to maximize your profits WITHOUT flooding the AH as well as knowing how the market fluctuates. For example: if there are herbs on on the AH say Stormvine, and you see a couple of auctions for stacks of 5/10/20 w/e and there arent very many say maybe 15-25 total (not from just one person) then I would only put up a max of 20 stacks of that herb to sell. I generally undercut 2-3 gold at a time for stacks of 20 on most things because I either farmed too much and just want to get rid the item for bank space. Or two, the price of said material is rather high and dropping it 2-3g a stack will ensure a quicker sale. FOr auction timing if i put mine up late at night I do 24hrs otherwise most others will be 12hrs just because it cost less in a deposit and depending on your servers busy times you can hit your target players then.

Also when it comes to selling items you would usually sell singles or small stacks of (<10) I try to only put up 3-5 at most (if that) because if you start to put up a lot of that item the price (yet again) will ultimately start to drop. And depending how often you sell said items that can factor in as well.

Just my two sense!

It is the mail system. sending alot of stuff to other toons. Got the same ban awhile back but got my account back too.

I think it is probably this that caused a flag in their system. I only put a few items on the AH, nothing note worthy as I understand that can be a big indication someone is bot farming. Also, even if you were farming massively legally, it is still abuse of economy to flood the AH, undercut and/or fluctuate prices. I remember back before I botted I got kicked and temporarily banned because I bought everything off the AH and reposted at higher prices to move the market.

I am not going to sit here and say that I will stop botting, because I won't. What I am going to do is move the profile back to the Twilight Highlands one and only do it 4-6 hours while I am playing on my main character. I NEVER had issues until I started using Tycoon's Uldum profile. Not that I think the profile itself is bad, but that Uldum in general is way overcrowded with bots. I never saw so many people BOTing in one area. Not to mention my BOT was ninjad also (although I keep that option toggled off). I am willing to bet someone reported me, (probably another BOT since I was only farming for 8 hours and I never got a whisper) they checked my activity and saw that I was mailing my alt stacks of matts. It is the only thing that makes sense.

If they saw I was using a BOT or had any evidence my account wouldn't have been completely redeemed. I feel as if they would have still gave me some sort of penalty.

I asked them if I was picked up by an automated system and requested knowledge on how I can avoid being picked up by this system and having to appeal my ban. Hopefully they respond with some information that can give us further insight into their investigatory methods.
