Auto-equip problem

Any particular reason why hunters dont auto equip their main weapon of choice, long range? Another problem that i have found which makes it difficult to leave the bot to do its thing. I dont want to leave it to do its thing and get torn apart because it decides it doesnt want to equip a better long range weapon

have you changed the options in auto equip ? to the desired type of weapon ? for example you can choose Two hander, Dual weild and one hander with shiled, then you can also narrow it down more such as axe or sword and mace and so on..
if that doesnt work then im sorry but i cant help further, i had no such problem on my hunter
