Just purchased and the program won't even run. Attached log. I ran BuddyWizard as admin as well but this did not resolve the issue.

I disabled Windows Defender and Windows Firewall (the only programs of that kind I use) to no avail.

restart your pc,
download the installationwizard http://updates.buddyauth.com/BuddyWizard.zip
run them as administrator.
after wizard installation is done, run windows update. And install all updates for .net & c++
restart

Already did that prior to this post, should have mentioned it. No success.

I am running on Windows 10 and I confirmed that I am running 32 bit WoW via the launcher.

What is the IP address of the "buddy servers" that it is trying to reach? I tried auth.us.buddyauth.com which resolves to 92.242.140.21 however the DNS servers 4.2.2.2 and 8.8.8.8 don't resolve that.

My current DNS server is 68.237.161.12 which is Verizon like I mentioned auth.us.boddyauth.com resolves to 92.242.140.21 . Is this correct? If so, I cannot reach this IP address via PING.

I work as a network administrator by profession so please feel free to be as detailed as possible.

Thank you.

I already tried that. Google's DNS does not resolve auth.us.buddyauth.com

Google's DNS servers - https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/?hl=en

I attached the result of nslookup using those servers

Is your US Authentication server not up? What IP should auth.us.buddyauth.com resolve to?

Can you provide more detail into what I should be checking?

all our servers are up and running

you can try to flush your dns and power cycle your router

I did that and it did not fix the issue.

Can you please confirm the hostname and IP address that I am supposed to be able to reach?

I may need to request a refund if we cannot get this working.

Hi, Drakk, and thanks for the log.

[14:21:35.906 D] System.InvalidOperationException: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.

We've never encountered an error message like this before, and it appears to be a problem with your Windows installation. Is your copy of Windows legit?
This Msoft KB article describes your problem. But, we are not keen to recommend it, as it reduces the security of your machine.

The things we would suggest are:
If want to pursue a refund, contact the Bossland GmbH 'front office' at [email protected] to get the process started. You can find more information under "Customer Satisfaction" here:

Chinajade,

Thank you very much. You've identified my issue and I have resolved it via the FIPS workaround.
