authentication failed after updating

Hello everyone, as stated in title i updated hb then restarted pc as suggested. Using win8 i open hb as normal and get a
Authentication failed.
Unable to connect to Buddy servers.
i browsed to see if i could find a similar post to see if its a hb issue, i could have overlooked titles and threads.

i tried my best to pinpoint the problem that caused the error to report it but i could not find it myself so i eliminated all files, fresh install and still had issues however, i resolved it and not sure how :-/
Im not sure how to delete a thread.
