Arena while I wait for bgbot update

Hi guys,
I have been loitering around the forums since about a month ago when the pirox crap went down. I probably would have bought by now except for I get the gist that HB is not all that good at bg pvp. So I decided to wait for the bgbot to be updated before I commit.

Having said that I thought I could still bye the bot if it can arena in a functional way. It is a little hard trying to figure out how the bot works without actually having it but I'm wondering a few questions...

I do NOT want movement control on my toon. I'd like to run around after my mate while arena'ing but I would like all the combat controls to be done by the bot. And if this can be done, how does it work?
If the bot can handle the combat/healing system (disc priest) can it also dispel and can it dispel multiple buffs/debuffs. For example can it tell if the person I am healing has a debuff/dot etc and dispel them check again and repeat etc?.

I'm not entirely sure I understand but is a disc priest CC the only thing that is needed?

My apologies for the nub questions but search only turned up some really vague answers.

If Arena cant be done, I'll just wait for the verdict on the bg bot.

Thanks
Chuck

The BG Bot is quite functional. I've fully pvp geared two different characters using it without a problem. I do try to lightly monitor it as there are definitely a few minor problems but I've also left it afk for hours. I just got owned the other day by a warrior-ret pally-ret pally team in arena where the ret pallies were both bots and the warrior was actually playing. That points out the problem. In arena you can watch each character too much. There are certain things that the bot does that doesn't make much sense logically to the point where they can be identified. Both popping wings at the exact same point and walking right on top of each other were also both strong indicators. I've never reported a bot before because I think it's hypocritical but I strongly considered it then. I believe both of my partner did report them without me saying anything.

This could also have been a multi-boxer, does not always mean its a botter, especially if they were walking on top of each other (and if both pallys had exact same pvp sets).

Are you saying you want to control the movement while the bot does all the attacking/silencing/interrupts/dispells/etc?
If so, this can easily be done using the built in "Combat Bot" or Bobby's "Lazy Raider". I would suggest Lazy Raider over Combat bot especially if you are a healer as Lazy Raider allows you to "Set tank" which will make the CC give them higher priority on your heals.

As far as multiple dispels, that would depend on the CC and if it has a GUI that lets you edit what is/isn't dispelled and what the priority is.

Before the newer version of HB came out I used the BG Bot a LOT and farmed full pvp gear for multiple specs on various toons flawlessly with the addition of the MR Honor Cap plugin (to auto buy specific items so I could run BG's without getting capped). Since the latest release there are some small issues, but still just as capable of running great, with some monitoring. *Biggest issue I seem to have is in WSG in the grave yard after getting ressed. Bot tries to go to flag room via the hill the GY is on, so it sits in the corner.

You CAN do that with one of the bot bases called LazyRaider, or even CombatBot, which both allow you to control movement of your toon, and then when combat starts they take over and go through the rotations of either DPS or Healing, and now depending on the CC you use it can even tank for you. BGBot is a bit buggy right now, as it seems to disconnect some users while it's in use. It also looks sort of botlike due to the fact that all it really does is run around killing. It doesn't assist flag carriers and things like that, but that's all I really care about is killing hordelings. I'm also waiting for the new and improved BGBot to come out. Check out LazyRaider/CombatBot and a good priest CC and you should be all set to move your toon on your own and the bot will handled the rest.

Thank you guys for the very considered responses.
I'll pop some money on my card tomorrow and I guess be a new customer.
I must admit, its a bit exciting knowing that this bot can do the combat while I chat on skype with my mate in arena.

Chuck :)

BG Buddy (formerly BG Bot) should be out in a testing phase over the next week or so according to a dev post on a thread here.

You can do a 1 day trial if you really unsure about it, I like HB a lot though so I'm biased.

I like HB a lot too. I was skeptical at first, just like the OP, but when I made the dive I went all the way. I didn't do a trial. I bought the lifetime membership, lol. I have not been upset one bit (except on patch days when I can't use the bot lol, but hey, that's a given :) ) and I always look forward to getting home to play a game that was once pretty boring to me due to all the button pressing and having to concentrate on rotations and such, now with HB I can focus more on the game and less on keeping a tight rotation and watchign for procs.

There are a couple of things I wish were in the bot, or fixed within the bot, but overall I give it a 95 out of 100.

Coming from Pirox, I was VERY underwhelmed when I bought HB. However, that was because there was no real setup...which confused me. Aside from the occasional crash HB > pirox. My early feelings were that of someone who didn't know any better. :)

And...the simple fact that I can start a profile from anywhere and the bot does the rest is awesome!

Nope definitely bots. I have multiboxed many times before. Multiboxers cannot recover quickly or very easily from something as simple as a priest fear. Both pallies as soon as they broke from fear ran straight towards me. No delay or noticeable reaction time. Running around the posts - the bots kept on running the same direction using the same distance from the post no matter how many times I ran around. Both blew their interrupts immediately when I started casting no matter what I was casting. (Generally speaking the second my cast bar appeared - much quicker than any human could react. In fact the warrior which was played by the human acted as one would expect. Used their interrupt when it was most appropriate and with normal reaction time.) I could go on. End result they won but anybody who has ever botted would know exactly what they were. Arena being more competitive also means a much higher chance of being reported if you are identified.

I completely agree as I said in my last post that BGBot in battlegrounds is completely different. In battlegrounds with so many people, targets, and things to do the bots are much more random and much less predictable in most cases. There's also less chance of being reported if someone does have a keen eye. I'm excited to see what the new version can do.
