had one the other evening along the lines of
"Hello Value Customer, We think you best customer, we give reward, come to <fake web address with .cn end> and claim many nice blizzard special for you only reward, only 2 day claim value customer, thenk yu"

I don't get these messages, I got SpamMeNot with level 1 filtering applied.

no, its not the message that gets me, its the name of the person sending it. ShiftyMcGee, WTF?

I actually got reported by one of those idiots because I told them to pound sand up their ass till they stopped breathing :( the GM laughed when he contacted me but did warn it was against ToS to verbally abuse someone even a spammer :/

I made a macro for these asshats... "Wow, that's awesome to hear. I'll log into your fake website, give you all of my account information you you can rape me blind... Now F&#% OFF!!!"

:)

if i see them spaming in trade, ill sometimes say, "Hrm...that sounds like a good deal. hows about, i give you the finger. *Puts Middle Finger up* and you give me my phone call"

Should've called yourself CodenameN(eo), lol.

Rofl, they don't even try to make it look real these days, I always curse at them and instead of me putting them on ignore they put me on ignore :).

whats sad is the amount of people that actually FALL for those. After setting up a test one time about 3 months ago on a random server/account. I did it for about 15 min. Out of about sending 100 different whispers, there was actually about 8 people that went there and hit the submit button. All that was on the page was a image of the login fields so they couldn't enter information but the submit buttons actually sent them to a page that said "This was a test, if it were actually real you'd probably ahve lost your account by now".

8 out of 100 seems small to some but thats 8% of users. sad sad.. wonder if it would have been different if i test the horde LOL After all you know what they say about the Allies :P

I think most people that do it use false information, atleast I hope so otherwise it would indeed be quite sad.

im sure it was even more successful just because you didnt have incredibly broken English, explaining what you wanted them to do.
