Appearing offline

Someone /w me the other day saying that I've been botting etc blah blah and that he'd added me to his friends list and was watching. Is there anyway I can appear offline ? Is it worth doing a name change or will the new name be updated on his list? He said he'd reported me a few days ago, whether or not he did I'm not that fussed about but I could do without him seeing me online for a few days. I could lay low for a while but if I'm on his list, he's going to see anyway at some point.
