API for range of spell effects

For example, the current enemy is using a rectangle damage area spell, how can I get the length and width of the rectangle?What if it's a circle, or a sector?

There is partial API support for this, but nothing for the more complex shapes as the omens are a very complicated system. Check the sidestep plugin source.
