Seems to me that the people who got banned were people using a non authorized version of HB, so they were still online when tripwire protected the rest of us.
AC still has the best pvp and loot system to date6month ban's is because of declining sub base
Asherons Call, EQ, DAoC, EQ2, AO did same thing few years before they was irrelivant

Its bit complex^ This would make sense if it would be:
1st offense = 6 months -> Easily reduced to 3 days (like before with 1st offense)
2st offense = 6 months -> no chance of reduction.
But thats not the case.. so if people are getting 6 month bans without chance of getting it reduced to 3 days, it will only decline the sub base even further.
Its bit complex
1. This increase the playerbase - most hardcore player will just start new from the same bnet, and play on them for the remaining 6 months at least. But they could think again before touching bot.
2. When the 6m pass - they will use the ingame token from AH - and will resub again - profit for Blizz again.
3. The casual botter could get feared, and either decline or stop using bot, which in long run will be either decline/again botting too, after all![]()

Also I've called twice about both accounts - They tell me the same thing, they have unquestionable PROOF I was gaining an unfair advantage of other players in raids. They won't come right out and say combat routine, but it's pretty obvious they have some sure-fire (at least they think?) way of knowing I was using one. This would also hold ground with the 6 month suspensions, before there was doubt...they could have gotten it wrong. Police investigations can take years so they figure a three day break isn't all bad if they were wrong for the player. However, holding your ground on six months when you beyond a doubt are right that you caught a person, also makes sense. It's like a penalty for them catching you stealing on video, they know you stole...they aren't going to argue over the amount you have to pay back. They will make you pay the entire amount back.
You failed to mention your post history about where you specifically stated you used AFK Ashran profiles. Don't you think that could have had a very large part in getting your account flagged? After all, Ashran IS an instance in of itself in where raids typically form to tackle the content. Your advantage over other members of your raid could just as well have been attributed to this. Not saying the Simcraft conclusion isn't valid, but you did post this not too long ago:

"I enjoyed the profile, and it was good work by OP. My problem was never with him, or anything else..and I wasn't entitled, I bot and know it's not safe. Ashran bot is very high profile, you make a ton of gold...more than any other source I've seen and therefore it was very popular very fast. Like I said, I used it almost from the time it was posted...rarely saw more than maybe another person, however when it reached the top/stickied or whatever it went from 1-2 people max to 8-10 or more, all running the same route, all clearly bots. I did post on here the SECOND it was apparent just to warn people, it's probably not safe. 10+ people running the same route for hours is going to attract automatic red flags from Blizzard, and probably player reports to confirm. "
