Here is what is coming for the pre-expansion patch to change the file type which will help blizzard do a lot of things including:

Client Hotfixing - CASC allows us to be able to hotfix client game data, similar to server hotfixes, giving us the ability to address client-side issues that would normally require a patch.

That means they can add a bot tracker update on the fly without even noticing?

From what I read on different topics here in the forum they have had that option already, so nothing new on that front.

all that reverse engineering and it just took this thread to educate them about a new change, why do they bother.
