Anyone here played 1.05 ptr ? Do you need to gear your bots differently?

Each bot of mine is frenzy barb. They all have around 50k dps buffed, 1100-1200 all res, 10-11k armor. Each also has at least 700 LOH and 2% lifesteal.
I get 1-2 deaths per hour usually per bot.
Am i going to need to re-gear? Is all res useless now? Stack tons more LOH or LS and sacrifice res or cc?
Input please from PTR players.

That's not enough info.

If you're planning on farming MP1, then don't worry at all, its a fucking joke how easy it is. I could run around with 15k hp and 20k dps as a wiz and faceroll it, so with those stats you're all good :)

Farming higher MP levels doesn't increase the # of drops you recieve, or improve the amount of affixes attached significantly. So until proven wrong, MP1 will be the way to go :)

Hope that helps

Yea, I have been wondering about that. Have been playing with the 1.05 PTR with my main on MP5-MP10 and didn't see any difference in drops compared to MP1. The monsters just have a shitload more HP especially at MP8 and higher and it takes forever to kill them even at 600k damage. Damage done by elites seems to be about the same.

From my understanding higher MP = more GF = higher chance for more affixes. Assuming I know wtf I'm talking about when it comes to how affixes are rolled (higher mf = higher chance for a 6 affix) then all that remains to be seen is how much more/less efficient it is at different MP levels. Honestly I'm going to put my bots on MP3 and see how it goes for a couple days. Then 2, then 1, and maybe 4 just to see.

I still think you're probably right that MP1 is going to be the way to go but hard to draw a conclusion without some testing.

Now the real question is which act to farm? :)

It's true that higher MF increases affixes, however diminishing returns apply the higher you go.

I believe I read somewhere that 0-100%mf increased the chance of a 6-affix roll from 10.xx to 11.xx, and then 100-300 increased it from 11.xx to 12.1 or something.

Basically the difference between 300+75 at MP1 and 300+75+250 at MP10 within theory will be less than a 1% increase in 6-affix drops. Worth it if it took 1% more time, but it does not :P.

Again this is just speculation, but everything in D3 suffers diminishing returns the higher you go, so I see no reason for it not to be the case here.

For efficiency all farming will be done where a full act 3 clear takes less time than it currently does. (MP1-3)

Also as for what act to farm, unless random dungeon exploration is made a lot less buggy then I think act 3 will still be the place to farm. Currently has 20+ Elites per run which takes 40-50 minutes, Act 1 is too open so takes longer, act 4 is lame as hell for elites, and I have never tried A2 so no idea :)

This man speaks the truth. We're all playing with so much magic find already that an extra 25% bump amounts to very little in way of extra legendaries. So yeah, 1% increase to drops or so, but 200% longer to complete runs.

If Act1 MP1 is the new fad spot, I've wasted a lot of money on tank gear.

We shall have to see eh! It seems plausible to me that if you can farm a higher MP level with your current gear (say MP3) then it may work out better for you in the long run.

Once the patch is released I'm sure Diablofans will do another very thorough statistical test to see the effects of MP levels on affixes, and from that I'll post some theorycrafting regarding botting different MP levels, the speed increase that it takes, and come up with some 'sweet spot' for MP levels based on your stats and class. But that's for another day!

PS: Whoever gave me rep and called me a smart guy, I thank you :)
