Anyone ended up with debts because of New PC Purchases and Bans? I hope not.

Was seeing all those "Which PC to buy" threads recently.

I seriously hope that no one actually borrowed real $ to buy PCs and CDkeys and got themselves in debt because of the bans. The financial crisis in Europe isn't getting any better. Getting deeper into debt because of the bans isn't really worth it. Getting involved with debt-collectors hounding you 24/7 is no joke, really.
 
well...its common sense that people shouldnt do something like that

botting business is unstable like every other business our there

Nobody with even a little common sense would borrow money for botting.
 
A month or so ago I bought a new PC, a little bit hesitant that I wouldn't make my money back but I did, so all is well :)
 
last two day , I just bought a pc which cost around 600usd and x9 d3 acc , yesterday was decided to buy the db key ,lucky i didn't
 
I took at 4 large loans from major banks... now they're wanting to seize my server rooms and cars =/... I needed the cars for a business reasons (transport the money from the bank to my house [don't trust them with my money]). 1000 of my accounts were banned and I lost $100,000 in servers =(. Guess it's back to McDonalds.
 
If you consider botting as business, it is possible. And every business has a level of risk involved. Usually the faster/bigger profit you can make, the higher the risk is. And lets face it, what other sort of money making allows you to have a chance (much much higher that winning the lotto) with just a few bots running to get a good 2-3 $50-250 item drops a day? Most important no labour involved but the initial bot setup. It all depends on the person, i myself didn't/wouldn't risk on that big scale but I know people who invested $10k+ in d3 botting and already made double on that. Indeed that's with privately written bots that from what I've been told do not get banned (so far), but oh well lets hope DB developers will save us from the next banweave, because recently it got scary.

I botted for fun and was happy for the additional money I made. Now, with all accounts gone It leaves me with a new PC and a vaccation for 5 days in Dubai :) (thanks Blizz ^^)

A lot of people in business have calculated risks. However, the majority of the businesses are involved in legal mean. If you're making money from running a 3rd party software for automated game play, you're involved in illegal business.

No, botting isnt forbidden by law, as well as any other form of cheating in online games, so this is legal buisness.
 
i try to be nice but reading this thread i see how stupid people are.

the guy who started this website and company was a huge botter and made tons of money from it and bought computers to make even more money and used some of it to start this website as a business.

but you have to be a smart person to make money at this, not your average moron who walks the earth.
 
also, all these people getting banned is a good thing for business. botting was getting out of control and prices were extremely low.


but the real money making does not come from popular games. it either comes from games that are not heavily botted or it comes from applying clever ideas to popularly botted games. if you do what everyone else does, probably won't make much money.

Botting is forbidden by your acceptance of the EULA. You're "exploiting" an economy involving real money. Everything in Diablo III are the virtual rights of Blizzard Activision. Best believe if Blizzard wanted to go after you financially, they could.

It depends on a country but if a) its not outlawed to make money from games (which is in Korea for an example) b) its not outlawed to cheat in computer games, then logically, botting for money is legal as long as u pay taxes. Thing is that most countries simply doesnt view violation of eula as crime, excluding piracy. Besides, its also logical to assume that if blizzard could sue for botting, they would, just to make an example to scare of ppl.
