Looking to build strong botting machine, and i heard Xeon processors is what i should be looking for. Friend of mine recommended e5-2620 ver 3 and 64 gb ram. Is this considered strong botting machine, is the ram on par with the processor or i need to perhaps look for 124 gb ram ?

Got a xeon botting rig ? Share ur specs and how many poe instances can you run.

edit: ok so i learned hdd is big part of the rig as well, is any 7200 1-2 tb hdd gonna do the job for having 10+ virtual machines, or should i specifically focus on ssd, and if so is is pottible to rune like 1-2 gb space per machine, i heard some people are doing it in lol with clones.

I've got some e5-2699v3, each can run 15+ instances of poe+VM very smooth (30fps). For ram I think 48Gb is enough or 64Gb if u wanna utilize the 4-channel technique.

I think 2620 can handle 6 instances with 24Gb ram cause I also have X5650 overclocked to 4.2 GHz here, of course you can try way more than this, but I just can't stand when the fps is lower than 20.

I have my own high performance computing cluster in university as my research requires tremendous computational resources. Botting is just a little habbit of mine:cool:

From my experience, the number of instances you can run roughly equals to how many cores you got. So it is 6 for e5-2620, i guess you can even get it to 8 but do expect some performance issues then.

24 ~ 32 Gb ram is definitely enough for you, try allocating 1 ~ 1.5 Gb to every VM. And you can also run 1 or 2 POE outside the VMs.

PS. Maybe i7-5820K is a better choice, same price, higher frequency, no issue in compatibility and can be overclocked.

Heya,
You can run more then 8 on one pc. Trust me.

wonder how you can get <1gig per poe client. im on all low settings getting 1.7-1.8gig :( is there some config file to set it lower?

I gave every VM 2 GB now, since I always have the problem with the "Unable to MapofView File in MapChunk" error after many different zone switches. It still comes from time to time but less.
Im kinda sad that my I7 2660k is running like 100% capacity when I use 6 VMs + PoE, thought it could run more, does anyone have any solutions to maybe lower the CPU power needed?

Reduce texture filtering, may reduce it a lot.
