Anyone succeeded in running HB3 through WINE in Linux? WoW's performance in a VM is pretty poor.

All we need is it to perform better than Windows/HB/WoW in a VM to make it worthwhile. In the past, it hasn't been possible due to the lack of appropriate C++ runtime and .NET frameworks. Not sure if suitable replacements have come about recently or HB3 requirements are any different. Would be awesome though.

They came out with .NET Core, but it's a *very* limited set of tools, but is supposed to have Mac, Linux, etc runtimes.

I do recall hearing about this, yes. The trouble is, you need .NET installed in the WINE prefix, not in the system generally. If WoW ran natively in Linux, .NET core might be more useful.

The best way to accomplish this is probably with Crossover or PlayonLinux.

It won't work at the moment. The install of .NET 4.6.1 needed by HB is a problem. Wine can't handle it at the moment.
