EDIT: Just found the thread that Win 10 isn't supported. Yay. Okay, thanks anyways <3

I have updated my Honorbuddy with the launcher and it still crashes immediately after authenticating the key.

But, I read that using the installer would work and I got this error. (see attached logs)

Which service pack is it referring to? I am on Windows 10 and this is the first time I have seen this error as I have had HB working recently on this PC.

Thanks <3

Hi, Sylvexn, and welcome aboard.

You did exactly the right thing by using the installer, instead of the zip file. The installer will put in place any necessary OS dependencies, and make certain they are intact. From your log, it is obvious that you are missing those dependencies, so using the installer was the correct choice.

Honorbuddy runs great under Windows 10. You probably read a post about people asking about it prior to Win10 being released.

Indeed, Windows is reporting that you are on Windows 7:

[6468:65C0][2016-05-01T23:14:43]e000: This application requires Service Pack 1 to be installed on Windows 7. Please install the required service pack and run the installer again.

Windows 7 requires Service Pack 1 to be installed before the necessary dependencies can be installed, and Honorbuddy will work.

If you really are on Windows 10, then you've been bitten by one of the many Win10 'upgrade' bugs. People that 'upgrade' to Win10 frequently run into problems with various applications. A 'clean install' of Win10 will repair the issue. You can read more about problems with Win10 'upgrade installs' in these posts:

Something you might try...
  • "Roll back" Windows 10 to Windows 7.
  • Apply Windows 7 SP 1
  • "Upgrade" again to Windows 10.
To be honest, this is a bit kludgy, and you may just be better off doing a 'clean install' of Windows 10.

cheers,
