Another Compiler Issue

I can get it to work maybe %10 of the time by repeatedly deleting the CompiledAssemblies folder and the Settings folder, but the other %90 of the time it doesn't work. I've done the SVN thing, made sure it's in the "Documents" folder of my user with proper UAC access. Changed the .exe properties to run as an Administrator. I've deleted the whole buddywing folder and started from scratch. Yes, I have followed Sneakymanz(Or whatever his name is) guide to the T. I think that covers the base of what I've already done.

I love the buddy team and had used Honorbuddy and Gatherbuddy for some time, which are both amazing. So I've tried to keep my cool for a while and dealt with it. However, admittedly, I'm starting to get a bit frustrated. Though, I do understand the bot is in beta, and Kick and his team work VERY hard on the routines and profiles and I do appreciate it. I would just appreciate it a WHOLE lot more if I could get the bot to work, which I'm sure is understandable because the license is time based. :P Attached is a log of the most recent failed routine compile. I did not delete my settings folder this time, though the previous three fails I did so I didn't feel like putting my key in again when I knew it would probably fail.

In the settings folder just need to delete the name of your toon folder.
And yes sometimes I have to do this all the time also. For some reason last few days have been fine.

Are you able to close bot fine or does it close by crashing most time?
Just curious for restarting if closed properly when closed last.

I just hit the X on the top right, I don't know if there's a more proper way to close it. Also thanks for the tip!

It would be fine if it were 'sometimes'. But it's almost every time. In the beginning it was about half the time, and now I haven't gotten it to load for two days, probably well over 20 attempts. I left that part out so my post wouldn't get angry as I wrote it :P

Thanks for the quick reply!

Hi, Aaronjim,
Try something for me?

Don't put it in the /Users/<whatever> directory. Put it in C:/Games/Buddywing. Don't copy it, do a fresh install from the website there, and see how it goes.

If you're too frustrated to try, I can certainly understand that. But if you do, would love to know the outcome.

cheers & good luck,

Delete the files in Wingit not the folder itself, just the files in it. right click on the empty wingit folder and update it via svn.
It should work now

Thanks again for the help. However, I still get the same error. I deleted Compiled Assemblies folder prior to loading as well. Here's the log (Though it looks to be the same thing):

Deleting CompiledAssemblies is a smart move. You're problem is the darndest.

The next thing I would try to rename the BuddyWing 1.0.887.292 to simply BuddyWing. I've had problems with spaces and extra-dots in Windoze pathnames before. At this point, its just grasping at straws, and all we have is "eliminating the unusual".

The other thing I'd check is that you're launching Buddywing as "Administrator". I've got UAC turned on, so know BuddyWIng works fine with that. IMHO, turning UAC off is very bad advice, and I won't run programs that require UAC off--its simply bad design on their part.

cheers,
chinajade
