Annoying and frequent Disconnects.

Does anyone else in the community get constantly kicked off the servers after being logged in for too long? I can't even stay in the game for longer then 2 minutes sometimes. Sometimes the bots will run great for 10+ hours and other times If I log into one, another will get a disconnect etc. Is this me ? blizzard? or is HB causing dc's ? I don't get it.

I am running an X58 motherboard with an i7 quad core and a GTX 480 with 6gb of ddr3 ram @ 2000mhz.

All drivers are updated including the LAN ones. My isp is fine because when I get kicked off wow, my msn messenger is still logged in and my firefox browses fine. any ideas? I am also directly connected to my modem which is also a router however I am not sure if that could cause any problems. any help will be appreciated and if anyone else is having this frequent d/c problem it be good to know im not the only one.

Hardline? or wireless?

if wireless, try it with a hardline, thats how I run mine, as sometimes it goes out for no apparent reason. WoW is more sensitive than msn as well for drops

are the ports for wow opened up on your router / modem?

is anyone (or you) torrenting? As upload speed will effect dc's

also sometimes if you've played with your NIC it can effect wow, as well as the leatrix latency fix will sometimes DC me randomly (like exiting to char select, then selecting another char will dc me)

Ever since the 4.01 client has released, I too get the random disconnects you describe--sometimes get booted out right after log in, sometimes its hours. The disconnects seem to come in 'bursts' as if there are server-side problems. When I'm running multiple toons, sometimes only one gets disconnected, sometimes several or all at the same time.

I've had this happen when Honorbuddy/Gatherbuddy was not running, so I don't believe its their combination with the WoWclient that is causing the problem. I believe the problem lies solely on the Bliz servers.

The last few days have seen a lot fewer disconnects than previously. But, that may be a statistical anomaly.

I run hardline ethernet. If you're using wireless, Windoze can contribute to this problem, and we'll need to chase it from there.

Good to know I am not alone. from your description of disconnets.. I am also getting those kind. I run 5 bots, sometimes 2 will disconnect, then i log back into those, then a different one will disconnect. its so annoying, logging into one account logs me out of another etc. Sometimes they all run great but I get an edgy feeling like " hm how long is this gunna last" lol but yea it sucks. I am wired directly to my modem/router (modem and a router in 1 device) since I don't trust wireless. I also have a connection of 25mbps down and 1mbps upload which Is what my service is capped at.... and I do reach those exact speeds from several speed tests. My internet is fine and stable, I think it is the server side as well and maybe something with my pc.

What are these ports I should forward on my router? I doubt that would make the difference but I can try it just to get that possible fix out of the way. I am also sometimes kicked out of windows live 11 from time to time and it seems to happen as I open up wow. very weird.

What do I need to know about ports?

Anytime your computer receives incoming data, it is sent to a "port". Your computer has many ports that can receive data, and different activities will utilize different ports. World of Warcraft & Burning Crusade use TCP port numbers 1119, 3724, 6112, 6113, 6114, and 4000 to play, and UDP port 3724 for in game Voice chat. The Blizzard Downloader, which downloads patches, also uses TCP ports 3724, 6112, 6113, 6114, 4000 and the range 6881-6999. I don't think this will help you tho. If you had these kinds of problems, you wouldn't be able to play the game at all more than likely. They are largely used for Bliz's torrent client/launcher.

Ive been able to stay connected ever since I used TCPoptimizer. Ever since I used this piece of software I was able to config my reg settings by reading some wow tcpoptimization guids out there. Works for me..so far.

I opened up all those ports on my router, everything started working great for a few hours but now its back to the same crap. no idea what to do anymore.
