What you guys think is best CPU to run multiple bots with?


AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core or Intel Core i7 3770K - 3.5GHz - 4 core


I am kinda leaning towards AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core



Give some advice please :)
 
Intel Core i7 3770K ! i got the same and im running 6x wow 24/7 without any laggs

Does the GPU matters or an onboard one will do?

Also you think it can run up to 8 bots?
 
The i7 is a beast, don't forget it has 4 virtual cores. Not sure if wow will utilize those though.
The i7 can overclock brilliantly and will beat the AMD hands down in just about every benchmark.
You pay for the performance though, intel is a lot more expensive than an AMD.

You will be best off buying a graphics card honestly, it doesnt have to be crazy good but when running 8 bots (Which the i7 can easily do) you would want say a medium load on a graphics card rather than a heavy load on your onboard.
 
wow doesn't really support 8 cores..
you would be better off with the intel for 4 cores, with out graphics, becuase that way you can over clock the hell out of it.
much better performance that way.

The AMD beats the intel after you oc it to 4.2ghz. I have mine running at almost 5 right now and its doing mighty well
 
Neith both 2 expensive

A 100$ 1045t or 6100 (dispute it's bad name) can handle 10 bits and are cheap to replace when needed
 
I can run 13 wow w/hb/gb windows with 12GB of ram on a Core i7 960 running that 4.0ghz flat. I don't overheat/chop/slow down the least. You guys are talking out your ass! I run all windows with Pwnboxer and settings to medium on a EVGA GTX 570. Seriously... You don't need overkill for wow if you know what to do and how to do it. I get average 35-75 fps per window, and I have 2 monitors. :)
 
Yea but intel CPU cost alot more than and not worth the overhead

Yes, you will need a graphics card and it doesn't have to be an expensive one. I have Palit GTX 560Ti 256bit 2GB, and it's load is like 5-6% with 3 WoWs running at 25fps.
The intel is better, no doubt about this, but it's also more expensive and unless you plan to run like 30-40 bots, you don't need an expensive CPU, not even the 8350.
The FX series are usually very good in multi-threading which is what you are going to do, altho this specific intel CPU is better than the 8350 in multi-threading aswell (not by a lot, but still is).
I have FX-8150, and each WoW+HB takes roughly 5% but I have UNDERclocked it to 2.6GHz, if I have to I can OVERclock it to 4.6-4.7GHz (It's not even hard to do it! I just had to increase the voltage juuuuust a little, without touching the voltage it's going straight to 4,2 GHz, I didn't want to try higher than 4.7 but it was stable!) so at the moment I am using like 50% of it's power...
Again it depends on how many bots you're planning to go with, but like I said, if you are buying this CPU specificly with the only purpose to use it for bots, and unless you plan to use 15+ bots you don't need neither of this 2 CPUs.

It doesn't have to, you won't run the bots to get extreme FPS ratings at Ultra settings. You just need like 25-30 fps per client. (I've heard ppl runing them with 15)

In my country, 8350 costs about 270$, while the i7-3770k costs about 430$, the difference in the price is HUGE, and again unless you want to run a huge amount of bots, you DONT need the i7.

And for 300$ CPU I could run a lot more bots than 13 no of fence it's a nice set up if you play wow also
 
I run 33 cause I used to know of a couple cc that had issue @ less than that
 
Nothing to keep coming, tell us how many bots you intend to use and we will tell you which one.
 
actually I believe the amd as of now holds the world record for being fastest not entirely sure but i remember reading the amd 8 core bulldozer broke the world record and the previous record was set by amd as well
 
That is true, that's for overclocking, but still there are intels that are a lot better. It depends on what you want to use it for
 
I want to run as many bots as possible on a single PC to minimize electricity bills.
I dont want to buy a xeon cpu station though.
Planning to have many pcs in one room with Air condition to keep the temperature low.

Can i run 50 bots on 1 PC? 60? What ever number is the highest and wont lag the bots thats the number i am aiming.

Too bad an AMD performs worse clock per clock vs. Intel.

@OP - unless you just don't want to support Intel (and who could blame you for having morals), get a 3570k or 3770k, they will outperform an 8350 in any situation. I could go into specifics, but this will explain things better than I.
