Can someone tell me what actually triggers a ban or is this just a guess? Should I start a new account if I used the previous version? How much data has been collected here?
 
You don't advertise your defense mechanisms as that defeats their purpose. Either trust the development team with an account that cost you no money or just don't bot.
 
Make 10 accounts and bot your ass off, Fuck Niantic!!! Their customer support is shit, they don't get back to any of their customers, they don't communicate with their community. Catching pokemon in your local area, unless you're in a prime spot, is shit. All the same pokemon day after day nothing new? Take away the tracking system then bring back an even shittier tracking system? Go hard after any type of 3rd party software, not just bots but any type of site or app that assisted you in any sort of way. Soft bans for your shit being super glitchy. People banned because their kid used their account in a different location, then them having to send in a fucking support ticket they never respond too? They made 100s of millions of dollars off this shit but yet they can't fucking keep it together? Personally going to bot the shit out of this game have like 10 level 35+ accounts and take over every gym just to fucking spite the cock suckers. The bonus is I enjoy botting and hopefully everyone else who reads this does as well. So again make as many accounts as you can and lets take over this fucking game as a botting community. If you read this and think I'm an asshole awesome, because that was my intention.

So I'm convinced it's as a result of using pokesniper. I've got two bots running at the moment which are both new.
My old main with my 100% IV dragonite and my alt with 2x 96% dragonites both used pokesniper and were banned shortly afterwards...

I'll keep you posted on whether these two make it to 30, if so I'd say in Pokefarmer we trust, in pokesniper... not so much.

Hey, if you wouldn't mind keeping me posted on how that goes for you (hearing back from support), I'd be hugely appreciative!
I sent in a ticket just questioning it as I've spent some cash on my accounts, but I haven't had an official ban email sent to me so I'm hesitant to send a ban appeal until I'm positive it's a ban.

Immediately dispute your charges with your credit card and/or iTunes, and you will receive an instant refund. I did so. This is how we can hurt Niantic for having NO customer support. The more there are refunds, then the more it will drop their current 4 Star rating with iTunes. In fact, any company that has NO customer support (ignoring our emails) should only have a rating of a minus 4 stars!

Called google as soon as I read this, no joke the lady who I got told me she played pokemon go, spent hundreds of dollars and was affected by the new update, she didn't specify whether or not she cheated, or if she was banned. She told me Google was unable to refund her since it was not googles fault, so she had to go through Niantic with a refund request form which she stated they never got back to her. So she called her bank and she was able to get back about half of what she spent through charge backs. She said it really all depends on the bank you have. Not sure if it is even a good Idea to request a charge back since they probably have proof of us breaking TOS, but I'm sure if I read through the terms of service that they've broken some of it as well, and if the 1 lady I called was having issues with Niantic, imagine how many other people are as well. They probably have 100's of thousands of refund requests and charge backs against them. Needless to say I'll be calling my bank tomorrow. ***PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AS ADVICE DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK***. I will be updating with emails I receive and what my bank says. I do not have any emails yet since I just made the call to google and I have not called my bank yet.
 
i've already done a charge back through my bank (HSBC) and received it back already, again not advising anyone does this but worst case scenario it'll be taken back out of my bank but i really dont think it'll be a problem

Hey, so how do I go about this with my bank? I'm in Australia and I can see the transaction made online but I'm not sure how to proceed.
Should I call my local branch to help organise it or is this something I can do purely online banking?
