Is there an alternative profile to sarkoth farming? Like maybe something that does humanly things like maybe not grinding 1 spot for hours. Maybe being there for a bit, then switching to another spot. Maybe doing dungeons like farming act 1 so it doesnt look like a bot?

core of arreat, however there are reports of people being banned running core only as well
basically it's random, some people get banned for running one bot for some hours a day, others are not banned running 20+ bots on 1 ip 24/7

My theory is that they aren't not banning specifically just for Sarkoth. All they have to do is look at number of hours played over a given time frame and look at the total amount of gold that profile has collected. Essentially, they know what the standard deviation norm for their players are in terms of gold collected over a time frame is... thus, they can just ban all of the statistical outliers.

Maybe a tool that switches profiles now and then would be enough. There are some decent profiles that don't get very high GPH, but are still very stable/afkable.

The tool could randomly switch between

Sakozy
Core of Arreat Hell + NM
Queens Inferno
Maghda Hell
Act 3 Q1 Nightmare or Hell (theres a llving profile with it)
City of Blood lvling profile

...

I think the issue with any kind of botting over a time frame, is that on average, the gold will always be much higher in terms of gold picked up. The stat in your profile shows gold pickup (but not gold earned from selling items, AH, etc.)

My main account has about 200 hours logged in gaming time and has just under 8 million gold picked up. In doing a spot check of the 40 or 50 friends on my list who are all comparable in time, they have at most 10 million.

If you have an account that bots, and say logs in 200 hours but only collects 200k GPH, your total will still come out to 40 million. This is probably higher than all legit accounts by far..

Honestly I don’t think it’s worth stopping. People stopped posting ban reports and no really specific information was given. It could be a random, one time thing. Or…….
your account may have already been flagged for the next band wave.
Nobody knows.

The moral of the story is that right now noobs are spending half their paycheck on the "new blizzard game."

Keep selling them gold.

I do agree with you on that part.. We should bot until banned :-D

My theory is about the same. I think they look for too many clients per IP, games per hour (most obvious) etc. and than manually check the account.

I got hacked some weeks ago, because I had no Authenticator. I'm traveling eastern europe most of the time for work, playing and letting DB run in hotels and sometimes via mobile network (I'm german). The blizzard guy from telephone support just knew everything about my logins.. date, time, location, internet provider and so on, since the day I started playing. He said that my account would be corrupted, obviously from some eastern europe guys lol.

But he also said they have no logs from trading, chat and so on.

Hmm.. nice to know about the no logs from trading and chat...

Hmm, so now that i cant farm sarkoth because i will get banned for sure. What should i use the bot for?

I'm just holding out until random dungeon exploration is finished. That's what I really want that bot for, not gold farming.

it has nothing to do with sarkoth and nothing to do with gph.
i know some ppl. they bot 24/7 3 weeks now without any ban.
they got 6 up to 12 bots on 1 and 2 pc?s.

other ppl. get banned by botting 5 hours wtf?
i cant understand bli$$ ban logic.

but thats one of bli$$ tactics that nobody can find out how do they ban..

Best other option I think would be when the bots gets random dungeon navigation, then we can start just farming Nephalem buffs and killing champion packs / bosses in Act 1 and maybe more later, depending on how the AI of the bot develops, or how good gear you have.

Repetitive movement along a fixed set of coordinates -> fed into inference machine/neural network.
Adjust accuracy of convergence to produce a set of players to ban.
Readjust if set population is too big or if customer service department complains of working overtime to deal with influx of banned players complaining.

It doesn't matter your gold to time played ratio. If I thought I could make money playing Diablo I would sit here all day doing exactly what my bot is doing and have very little deviation from what the bot does. My theory is, of course, based off of leaving the bot on to calculate my GPH while playing over a 3-4 hour span and running Sark on my own. I was getting LITERALLY the same GPH if not slightly higher (depending on how you look at the bots average runs). I believe the reason for this is the fact I manually kill Sarkoth much much faster than the bot and rarely if ever die/get stuck, and make much better decisions on when and what to loot, sell, repair, stash. So, doing the same thing over and over again and having an absurdly high gold found to time played ratio can in no way be considered grounds for banning an individual. There is nowhere in their TOS that says I cannot have a high gold found to time played ratio. People are getting banned because of third party software, selling gold, and absurdly long time played numbers (ie: 24h/ServerUpTimes).

If they banned an account holder for running Sarkoth they would be setting themselves up for a class action suit. Imagine all the players that farm goblins (act II goblin is still active), bosses (remember before botting and the patch farming "The Butcher"?), named mobs (Sarkoth), and acts; now imagine how many people "farm" for innumerable hours. There are some people who game nonstop as if their life depends on it (had a good friend who had to go to therapy after a year of WoW playing: he'd put in a little over 200 days of in-game time playing WoW in 12 months time [true story, kind of sad]. He was mentally addicted, obviously, but this is a prime example of the hours spent toiling away at a game. And keep in mind, in WoW you might sit and "farm" mats/achievements/bosses/gear/battlegrounds.)

One thing before I wrap it up, because I've monitored thread replies on similar posts; If you're going to rebut my claim, that Blizz would be setting themselves of for a class action suit, think of this. If they were to disable paying customers from playing a game they purchased based purely off of something as ludicrous as the amount of gold you've picked up, and the fact that you'd played the game different then they imagined they would be acting on grounds, in the US at least, that would be prime for such a suit. It would be the same thing as Activision banning (and essentially stealing the purchase price of) buyers of the CoD franchise simply because they had a ridiculously high K/D and/or they were more accurate than others, without definitive proof of their "cheating". Circumstantial evidence is hollow, and would not hold up in a court of law.
Imagine: Blizz - >:( "we KNOW the user is botting because he only runs Sarkoth." / Player - :P "I like running Sarkoth, it gives me joy and I get lots of gold. I've just done it so much I'm fast at it." / Judge - O.o "There is no difinitive proof the defendant is guilty of said botting activity".

In conclusion, botting Sarkoth or Core is not going to get you banned.
Botting ANYTHING 24/7 WILL EVENTUALLY GET YOU BANNED.
Botting with a bot that is recognizable WILL EVENTUALLY GET YOU BANNED.
Selling gold outside of the rmah (if to a known gold seller) WILL EVENTUALLY GET YOU BANNED.
Botting with a profile that has a very scripted pattern may eventually get you banned (the verdict is still out here).
Running multiple bots on the same PC WILL EVENTUALLY GET YOU BANNED (I don't care what the idiots say, it will. Between myself and my core of botting friends I am the ONLY one to survive since day 1. I run each bot independent of the other bots. All other things considered are identical between myself and others, yet I remain; and furthermore when they get banned they get ALL ACCOUNTS BANNED at the SAME TIME... hmmm seems like Blizz KNOWS you're botting when you have 6 accounts running on 1 machine. So don't come at me saying multiboxing isn't getting you banned, because it is. The proof is in the data.)

I've been working on a plug-in that tries to simulate a more human element. I think it will resolve many of the "I've been banned" problems. If anyone wants to dig into it with me to slow down the users getting banned, feel free to contact me.
