i recently got told by a GM that found out i was using a third party program from my Public IP, but your public IP can change when you change ISPs and all that sort, but they still say its was from this indiviual computer. but all computers on the same router have the same public IP. So if they know it was my computer that there talking to me on now must mean its my physical Address aka my MAC address, he said he couldnt unban my accounts cause i was on the computer that was using the Third party programs. im going to try n change my MAC address and try again to get the accounts unbanned. and we will see what happens. i hope he didnt make a note on my account, what are yalls thoughts? sorry if this is in the wrong spot :)

You do know that your MAC adress is the adress of your router which connects to the interwebs. If you're not using dial up that is.

They're probably just going on the HDDs HWID.

Also question to poster: Did you ask the GM on another WoW account? Becuase I have a hard time believing that blizz can detect anything through the ticket system on eu.battle.net, except for IP that is.

to change mac adress : Tmac v6
to change Hard disk Serial : HardDiskSerialNumberChanger

let's go

I am afraid, you are away off the answer, mate.

The Customer support can identify your Wow installation and link all the wow licenses, ran on this computer from the eternity, no matter what IP address you have used, simply by utilizing their own memory space in the Windows Registry.
That's why they are confident enough that its always you, who use the account.

Just check the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net - All the hex code named folders inside are IDs for blizzard licenses, logged on this computer in the past.
I do have 17x in total currently, even after I have cleared the list few months ago. I guess that includes wow licenses, these for heartstone/d3 etc. too.

Next time on appeal, just pretend to have second chance, and do it with more safety from then on.
