Okey just got a mail from Blizzard telling me that they have removed all the gold, honor and conquest points on my account

Oh, god they really did mean all my gold?
What the fuck do they expect me to do with no gold? I'm not a raider. All my time/purchases in WoD came from the reserves I had gathered in MoP since Garrisons made ore/herbs common as sand. This virtually forces me to bot.

WOO HOLY SHIT ALL GOLD REMOVED!!!

well I had over 800k gold on my account, LUCKY I just buy out 3 years worth of game time JUST before the ban, my subscription ends on March 2018
before the ban I had about 70-100k gold across my account... oh well since I got 22x level 100 on this account, each with Lv3 inn and 10-15 TreasureHunter followers.. shouldn't take long to get back on track.... :-)

My account is also empty. Too bad I see no reason to reactivate my old accounts =/
Yeah I hear that. I had a second account that I sent all my gold too so it's safe and sound but after six months I just don't care anymore. Now that I'm balls deep into Fallout 4, WoW is but a memory.

I got the same e-mail.

What I find hilarious even federal law does not allow someone to be punished for the same crime twice. "Double Jeopardy" I believe its called.

Unless you are Blizzard. You can impose a 6 month ban, and then, at the end of said six months, you can take all their stuff too.....apparently.

Account I have had since Vanilla--not giving them one more $ to re-activate my account. RIP WoW. It was a good run till you got too big for your britches.

You're so right, I was gonna go back and talk to friends till I saw they removed my gold, only 80k but none of it got with botting, I raided a ton and did garrison every day and every 2 hrs. That's ridiculous...

Mine is all gone too. 400k.

Not one single scrap of that was earned from botting. All I botted was a rotation to keep up with how absurd and bloated it's gotten over the years. My class is a nightmare to raid on now and and it sure as hell wasn't like that when I started on it.

I still like the game well enough and was interested in Legion but there's no possibility I'm going to approach it from scratch so... that interest is gone. My fault I got into this mess but they won't be getting any more money from me. Luckily there are lots of other games I want to play, MMOs as well.

I broke the rules but man... what a cruddy ending.

Would you rather have permanent bans?

Probably, I wouldn't feel like I've been misled about the ban and my account. In the end, it's the same result; not going to return because I'm not starting from scratch.

I'm not really mad at Blizzard anything, it's my fault but like I said... just kind of a shitty way to end it all after so many years.

Good hunting to those who choose to go forward.

You were not misled.

The original ban e-mails said, "Exploitive gains such as items or currency may have been removed as part of this action."

You did it for the same reason I did it, I assume warlock?

yes but in the past all that meant was that they would take it if they found you have bought or stolen or botted the gold, or exploited the AH to get it not just take it because you got banned. Doesnt matter to me, I'll say what I said to them when it happened, "obviously I wasn't really playing or I wouldn't have botted so not a loss, good luck finding a job when they lay you off for the diminishing subs."

Yeah, thing is 99.99999%, as a low estimate, of my gold was legitimate. I botted a rotation solely in a raid for a few months, that account was very old. Not saying they're not within their rights, I just wish the terms of things were better detailed.

To be really blunt here and no offense intended but I'm not really interested in your opinion and I'm not going to be arguing this with you. I know you guys love your forum arguments but I don't, it was a passing comment and there's nowhere to go and no point. I was interested in screwing with the game a bit but not from scratch and there's other games I had on my list anyway.

Blizzard is still a good company and honestly I'd have perma banned my ass if I were them. That said, in 100% honesty I would not have played the game at all in the time period I did without a bot. I think that says a lot about the current state of things.

Hah, yeah... I picked Warlock as my Draenor main and quickly found that I couldn't keep up anymore. Last time I had played it was uh... Well, the popular spec was Shadow Mastery/Ruin... so that was like 2005... It was fun and flowed well back then, nowadays it's like playing a bad song on a crooked piano. Have no idea who is running the class design but I'm not sure they understand what a video game is. I have this theory that the current lead was originally a janitor who had gotten lost in the building and in a moment of confrontation, lied and wound up in a board room.

It seems to me that they expect that you will buy a token :D

How is Blizzard going to investigate.. let's say, 100,000 accounts, to determine how each botter earned their gold and honor? It's not feasible. Determining whether someone "benefitted" from botting in terms of in-game currency is extremely subjective, so they just removed it from everyone.

I'm a victim too, mind you. I'm not glad they took the gold, but I don't feel misled. They clearly stated they can remove the gold in the original ban e-mail.

Its one punishment , suspension and loss of ........! Oh and they make the rules, read their terms that we agree to.

Double jeopardy has nothing to do with your game. It has to due with being prosecuted twice for the same thing. You aren't being prosecuted and you haven't been charged with a crime.
