Adding Value to Our Teams in BG Using BG Buddy

BG Buddies are overpopulating battlegrounds, and with that, it gets harder and harder for groups to compensate the additional weight bots add.

We get to the ridiculous situations where bots have to do 10 or 20 BGs to get the same amount of Honor regular winning teams get in 4 or 5 games. This leads to both dramatically reduced effectiveness and increased risk, as we have to bot more and more to get our Honor.

Since BG Buddies are not just going to drop their bots and start playing by hand, I propose for a better, smarter logic to be implemented into BGBuddy, so it will actually contribute something to the team instead of just fight anything it sees like a lobotomized monkey.

Here is a list of things, which would dramatically increase BGBuddy's overall contribution in a BG and make lots of Buddies happier.

1. Go for flag in WSG, and Twin Peaks, instead of fight in middle.
2. Prioritize base capping and fighting on flags instead of fighting in the roads in AB and EoTS.
3. Go for Efc and Healers first. Seriously, sometimes in a 10man BG 5 men are bots. Focusing down enemy healers and Efc will be a big plus and a piece of cake.
4. Properly defend and assault bases. Since we already have almost everyone except for Stealthers loaded in memory, it should be possible for the bot to see who is going where, including enemies.
5. Call out INC's and ask for help. Act when others call out INC's and ask for our help.
6. When targeting healers scream something like "KILL THE HEALER" or "Heal me" if it's being targeted.
7. Heal our FC if we are a healer.
8. Use proper and flexible tactics whenever applicable. Battlegrounds have only so many winning tactics so it shouldn't be too hard to implement them.
10. Don't mindlessly attack big packs of enemies moving together if we have no reinforcements and friendlies around or if we are hopelessly outnumbered. Plot and lay out a new course to evade them instead.
11. Target the most injured players in a pack first, if there are no healers around, so they will die fast, give us KB's, Honor and not harm our group and us.

Perhaps it's too much to ask, but this will improve drastically the performance and contributions of Buddies in BG's towards our team's wins and will help us get our Honor a lot easier.

there are smarter logic inc... my best guess is it's going server side as suggested by raphus, as well as an option to set a timer which reduces the amount of people in the battlegrounds.

BGBuddy is getting better and better since I started using it but I agree with most of the things on that list.

But HB team does a great job and I know they will make these things even better in the future..!

Well, if Buddies are going to communicate with each other through a central server, then it will be even easier for them to plot winning strategies and interact with the team, like say the server says "Buddies 1-5 go cap LM" and the Buddies all march there like soldiers, capping it.

Only downside is Blizzard may actually ***** the communication protocols of the Buddies and then we will have problems.

Not likely. We must never forget that it's not BGBuddy that's the problem, but people who actually decide to use it. They will find another bot if they get "limited" and will do even more damage to the BG system.

We must harness the popularity of BGBuddy to our advantage and use it to actually improve the teams we are on.

What can be better than 7/10 people in WSG running like one for flag, zerging healers and EFC's ?
What can be better than 25/40 people in AV running straight for the enemy boss without stopping anywhere, ending the battle fast and giving their team a win ?

BGBuddy can do a lot for teams, if only it gets smarter, and I am very excited to hear that it actually will. I only hope they won't enforce any limitations on us tho, as this is going to drive a lot of people to use crappier bots.
