Adding a plungin system / combat logic to GB.

Any how Just wondering how hard it would be for you expert coders to add combat logic and a plugin system into GB

your not misinformed, just seems like a myth atm. this might come out sounding bad, but it seems like the left hand that wrote or was helped to write GB is not in contact with the right hand being the group that wrote or had help in writing HB .
to add to that. an added in plugin system and or added combat logic seems much better for peeps that love gb.

right now gatherbuddy's competently different than HB. Most farmers, that use GB, does not want to have to mess with HB settings, they would rather just throw up a few macros and be good to go.

so you would not like an added plugin like king reply and lets to chat if youget whispered out of the blue ?
also there would be no added combat setting. just incorperate the default hb combat settering. it auto loads your class.

I wouldnt mind abit of combat logic into GB, since macro's piss me off (that's why i left pirox's bot) and they can only do so much. I also agree that GB being merged as a plugin with HB is just a myth and if it does come true your looking at a ETA of month's away since the dev's are still fixing questing and CATA is just around the corner so you also have to think how many bug's are going to appear when CATA is released and HB/GB will need a major update.

currently i can run more hb's at a time becuase they can be minimized without a bunch of problems .. i start minimizing gb's that the damn things freeze up or just fly up and up and up... basically worthless, so i have to keep those screens open. ie more resources

I just trying to say if you run few clients and gb's - so it's not a big deal. But if you trying to run more than 15+ clients and gb's, in that case any % of system resource must be counted.
In case of lags in minimize stance, so, we still waiting new gb release..

Once GB and HB are rolled together into a single project, you'll be able to do things like this. At the moment, there is no external api to make these types of things happen with GB.

A GB with plugin support should use the same amount of system resources as it does now with only maybe a very slightly bigger .exe if the user decides not to use any plugins.. the option to be able to would be nice imo but since its going to get integrated into HB then I doubt it will happen.

myth being we've heard about it, seen something about it, but don't actually have it or any remote idea when we might ... myth might be the wrong word, either way i think you read to far into it.

It's not a myth, it's called *pulling a wowi* . The devs will get to, as stated, there's cata, questing to work with, they have a chinese userbase too which complicates things. They're actually very busy for guys that don't do this 24/7 as jobs. So, let them do it. When it comes, it'll be really well done and though out like all the previous updates.

Well... To be honest, i kinda gave up on GB months ago...

It hasn't had a single improvement in like.. 3 or 4 months..
Yes.. i understand that HB is taking a lot of development and time and such, But come on.. GB was the Main project that got all this started. It makes me sad to see it getting left behind that bad...

I know that you don't want to work on GB as it's planned to get merged into HB and all.. but till this day we know NOTHING about how this is going..
The last eta was :
Monday May 31 - paid plugins.

We've been waiting since then.. at least i have.
But that schedule got fucked up long time ago with all the bugs you guys ran into, which is fine... but it's coming at the cost of GB.

This can go on forever... every time a bug is fixed in HB another pops up =/

When will GB get a chance?

Just because it runs "alright" doesn't mean there is no room for improvements.
For example... the ground mount support. it's fucked up.
Not everyone is willing to buy HB just to gather on the ground.
The Badnodes system. Takes forever to make a good badnodes list.
The combat system, Navigation or adding even new features.

If you compared the improvement of HB to GB's,
HB has went from waypoints navigation (alpha), up to the current navigation system and other features.
Literally dozens of features and hundreds of improvements over the past months.
While GB on the other hand, is still pretty much the same since a couple of months since of it's release.
I'm not saying that it's BAD or anything, but it just seems that the dev team worked on it to a certain level and then basically left it there.

HB has been taking most of their time since its release. As soon as HB1 was about "finished" they started working on HB2.

But whatever i say probably doesn't matter. So i'll just sit back and wait for the miracle that will get GB to the next level.
