So how much MF do your Barbs have?? What is the recommended amount?

0 base and doing great MF is overrated. also have high dps and 0 deaths unless bot sticks.

340 with a DH and follower.

Is anyone still doing goblin runs or the act 2/3 champ profiles?

if you look at the stats thread for rads act 1, a trend seems to be emerging. and that is over a long period of time it evens out to be about the same % wise for il63 drops no matter what the MF%

100% 38% 30% n 124%

i do admit the ones with higher mf get more mid range loot but for high end items its just random.

Yea I found some nice things in sarkoth with zero mf, but you can definitely notice a difference with higher mf. It seems like everything is scaled up. Just like gold find seems to drop more gems, magic find gives you a lot more low level rares, tomes of secrets, salvagable blues, and once you hit 5 stacks it's like 3 rares per champ. I'm sure with the right filtering and loot settings you can make use of higher mf, but it might be better to run hybrid builds.

difference between good mf and low mf is how many propriety your that drop will have...

also if u get a higher mf u will find more legendaries/set items... I always find around 5 per day (running with 360mf)

...yea you die as a DH just as much as a barb or monk does, but the difference is cost. My barbs were banned probably from when they used to run sarkoth, and I didn't want to hand level another account so soon. There are belphagor mods like mentioned above that do things like triggering shadow power before engaging enemies. There are also some interesting ways to tank a DH. You can get really high armor and hp (like 4.5k armor and 70k hp) or you can run lower All res builds with a bunch of d.o.t. constantly going off with Life on hit. If you don't have the desired damage reduction and healing yet, you can sword and board with the discipline Regen multishot rune.

The reason why over a long periode of time no matter what MF you have you = out to the same amount of ilvl 63 is that MF doesnt increase the chance of getting more loot. Your gonna get what is it 4% chance to get ilvl 63 in act 1? No matter how much MF you have. MF increases teh QUALITY of the loot. MF gives you a better chance at 6 afix loot Not more loot just the loot you get has a higher chance of being 6 affix.

Finding more and better magic items is critical to overcoming challenges and defeating enemies in Diablo III, particularly on higher difficulties. Magic find is a unique item property that can help you drastically improve your haul. It is tracked in the Inventory menu (Inventory > Details > Adventure).

But what does that really mean?

Magic find affects the quality of items you acquire from killing enemies (but not treasure chests, vases, weapon racks, or other environmental objects). It doesn?t give you a chance to get more items on a given kill ? instead, it increases the chance that an item you find will be magical, and more potent than it would be otherwise.

When a monster drops an item, Diablo III randomly determines the item?s quality from a chart that includes item quality and the number of affixes present. The game randomly "rolls" on each property in the chart to determine which affixes your item will get. Your magic find score is applied as a bonus to these rolls.

For example, if a monster has a 4% chance to drop a 6-affix rare item and you have +50% magic find, it now has a 6% chance to drop that item.

Item quality is checked in the following order:

Legendary
6-affix rare
5-affix rare
4-affix rare
2-affix rare
1-affix rare
magic item
Using the above example, when your roll ?misses? a higher-level item quality, the item generator proceeds to the next lowest item quality in the chain (in this case, checking to see if you got a 6-affix rare, then checking for a 5-affix rare, and so on). Your magic find bonus applies to each roll. If the same monster has a 10% chance to drop a 5-affix rare item and you have 50% magic find, you now have a 15% chance to get a 5-affix rare item.

In a group, all players' magic find bonuses are averaged. So, if you?re in a four person group where two players each have +20% magic find and the other two players have none, all four players will effectively have +10% to magic find.

Thats from Blizzards Post on what MF does.

At this point its still RnG.. I rather have 0 deaths over the long haul and not have to invest alot of money into the bots. I bot has MF gear and He gets the same amount of good loot as my non MF bots. Its still RNG. and whos to say when you do get 6 afixs that its gonna be 6 good affixs or high stats rolls on those 6 affix you still can get junk items with 6 affixs.
