OH and if you wanna feel any better.. the one account i was banned by blizzard for.. was before i even knew about botting in the game... They send me emails once in awhile telling me how the password was recently reset and I must log in to change it. These were not phishing emails as I didn't use their links and I would visit battle.net on a different browser in privacy mode and sure enough the old password wasn't working. I even got a "Free 7 Days of WoW" on the banned account, if i return back in february like alot of old accounts did. When i tried redeaming it it said "This account is not valid with this offer".... My guess, based on tracking the actions of blizz with the banned account as well as those of my friends is they are randomly resetting passwords on accounts that are banned, pretty much doing their own phishing, and then those that are crazy enough to call and act stupid get checked (and usually 72hr'd or banned)... but those that simply follow the prompts and move on kind of drift away from the radar.
Yes I know its just like saying "wow he is blowing smoke" but alot of you know what i'm talking about and have probably experienced this first hand and just now realized it...
So basically be careful, thos of you receiving 72hr suspensions cause your accounts were recently "changed password'd" and such.. most of you probably aren't far from the truth.. but you need to make sure your not repeating your past footsteps cause they want to see where your going after you reset and such.
BE CAREFUL, AND LEARN FROM YOUR PAST... if you got suspended/banned.. CHANGE YOUR ROUTINE... I don't know how more simple to put it.....
As George Santayana once said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
