I am wondering who has had success with recovering accounts using the Account Recovery Form? I have an account that was disables due to an ?Unauthorized Account Access Policy Violation? (I transferred some stuff between toons that should have been done through a guild bank?my bad). Blizzard has requested that I complete the Account Recovery Form and their email states that this is the only way for the account to be recovered.

The trouble is that this account is not in my name. The recovery form requires you to send in a photocopy or scan of a piece of ID. I am wondering if anyone know how much attention is given to the ID you send them? I can knock out a dummy id (slight alteration of one of my own ids) easy enough that, once photo copied, will look real enough. Anyone done this before or would I have better luck just calling them up and trying to get the account back that way and avoid the form altogether?

This was a never botted account that has a couple toons on it I really like. I curse myself for not following my own strict guidelines of no activity between accounts unless through a guild bank but the deed is done. I would love to hear from anyone with experience in this type of account recovery.

Thanks

Well, just so you all know, a photo of a black and white photocopy of an altered id seems to work just fine when using an account recovery form. Just got one of my banned accounts back 2 hours after sending in my forms.

Thanks for the Info, have never tried to this. How do you change the name on the ID???? print out the correct name then tape it over the your then scan your ID???

Depends on the ID and the graphics behind the name. Normally nothing a little photoshop cant fix.
