***Notice of Account Closure***

Account Name: WOW2

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Beginner

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment: Blizzard Legal Documentation. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure.

For any disputes of this action or further information on Exploitive Activity, please visit the Exploitative Activity FAQ and contact page here: Blizzard Support

About 2 hours before I was banned I sold 100k two separate times from a level 1 toon which I deleted after I was done. I'm positive I was banned for this and not because of honorbuddy. I withdrew gold from my guild bank on a lvl 1 orc and traded 200k split up over 7-8 different trades of smaller amounts of gold. Once all the trades were done I deleted the toon and logged back in my paladin to begin grinding again. What did I do wrong? How can I prevent this in the future? I assume you should use vanilla accounts to trade gold.

The vanilla account would be a good idea for selling gold in bigger quantity, yes. I never sell more then 20k at the time (at least a few days between) if its not from a vanilla account :)

My condolences for your loss. When I was reading your thread I was thinking it might not have been your "fault". You sold gold, right?
They might have been watching the other party. I've found that most times someone gets banned for selling gold is not because of the amount or something like that, more who they give the gold to.
Being paranoid is ok, but deleting the character does not mean that blizzard will lose the log of who's account made the trade.

Trading with a vanilla account is a good idea. Might limit your losses :D

Good luck getting back on your feet!

YOU USED F2F?

AND YET YOU WONDER WHAT YOU DID WRONG?

And if u sold 200k it should make up for a new account unless u sold your gold for .5$/k which may be pretty plausable since u were also smart enough to use f2f.

GL, lol.

I did make quite a good haul for it but how would you suggest I go about doing it then? Very new to this, been doing it less than two weeks.

Read the forums...

if you dont have access to a vanille account make a guildbank on a new level 1, drop the gold into that with the same new level 1 and let the goldseller take the gold directly from that guildbank...

if you do have a vanille use this method to get the gold on ur vanille, then make a new guildbank on the vanille and let the goldseller take the gold from that.

quick question? what is f2f

and blizzard logs every thing. their gm are equiped with dual 22in monitors because they have so much information they need to look at

I did make quite a good haul for it but how would you suggest I go about doing it then? Very new to this, been doing it less than two weeks.

Make it simple, Create a guild, put the gold you are selling into the guild bank, invite the buyer to the guild (or have him make a lvl 1 alt to invite), make your buyers toon the GM of the guild and then leave guild. After that the gold is his to withdraw, transfer or whatever, your job is done.

I would suggest making several extra guilds to have on hand for just such a purpose. They are easier to get now because you only need 4 signatures and, of course, they do not require the purchase of any tabs. Keep the names of the guilds bland and forgettable, no MESELLGOLD2U or anything foolish like that, and then sell, sell, sell.

Make sure that your main gold storage guild is controlled by a GM on your main account, so you have access to your gold even if your vanilla selling account gets hit, or simply give officer status and full bank control to one of your toons on your main if you are not comfortable with the GM thing. You basically want to be able to get to your gold somehow if the selling account is hit. Do not access the bank or even use the toon unless something happens and you need to get your gold out. The less exposure your safety toon has to your banking guild the better.

For the cost of a vanilla account it is worth the investment just in case you are banned for gold selling. It takes time to re-level a farming toon and it takes much more time to replace a main account, so why risk it. Consider the cost of your vanilla account just a part of doing business. After a few large sales the cost is really very little overall.

Granted, I am very, very new to the selling of gold myself, however, this method has worked well for me so far. Remember, be paranoid, Big Brother is out to get you! At the same time, enjoy yourself, it is fun to break the rules, it adds spice to life! In the end, there is no right and wrong, there is only fun and boring. :)

What Malice said. I also use tunneling software when i log into my selling account and sell mah goldz. It keeps my home ip address seperate from the gold selling account. That way if they look into the IP address of the gold selling account they won't see my main or botting accounts. Just another layer of security i feel. Be paranoid:)

Rofl, that made my day :). Who doesn't have dual or tripple 22"-24" monitors for privat use? ^^

You don't know what f2f is yet you are so informed about WoW that you know what monitors the GMs use. Right. Source? :)
