I never traded gold with this account EVER....I simply put the RAF time I bought with a different account's gold.
Don't let these people tell you otherwise:
I believe buying RAF time is a GREAT way to get banned. Here is my story.
5 Scroll of Res accounts. Activated 10ish days ago. Botted all 5 for almost the exact same amount of time each day, every day, 18 hours a day, in instances (no contact with outside world, to avoid player reports if you will).
all 5 bought time. Time was applied at the same time, about 5 days ago.
Last night, 3, within 2 minutes of each other, banned. My account setup was 4 on 1 realm 1 on a random realm.
Here is how I KNOW RAF time got me banned.
The order the seller applied the codes was:
1 [realm 1]
2 [realm 1]
3 [realm 1]
4 [realm 1]
5 [realm 2]
The order I got banned
3 [realm 1]
4 [realm 1]
5 [
realm 2]
I think the issue here is this: If you buy RAF time you will not DEFINITELY get banned, but if, a GM looks into your accounts because they are suspicious, (there is a blue post talking about they know mostly botters buy this time) and notice SUSPICIOUS activity, and he is having a bad day, you are getting banned. The problem is the credit card which was stolen to buy those game cards which the RAF seller adds to a recruited account so you get gametime, naturally link you to every other account that has a gametime code on it from that stolen card, so it would get investigated at the same time.
The fact that every single one of my 5 accounts were merged into bnets (all on their own with their own names, emails, etc), activated, SOR'd, leveled, and botted, at the same time, same pace, everything the same. Never traded with each other, never sold more than 10 items on the account house, never sold gold, did nothing at all, tells me the only link with them and not with the other 2 is the gametime codes that are used in the RAF process. I bet you, a GM investigated the 1 stolen credit card that bought all 3 of those codes, and then looked at my newly made SOR accounts, noticed an excessive amount of boss kills in 1 dungeon and said "oh ill be damned, this is a botter, banned!..."
I completely know the reason I was banned was because I was noticed, and they seen how much I was running a dungeon, but still, if I had not been noticed (not bought RAF time) and just went about my business, I bet I would have those accounts today. I say it is luck of the draw if you get banned from RAF time, but it is most definitely possible, not because they are banning you for DOING IT, but they are banning you for the fact that they NOTICE you are botting when they look into your account.
If you like the idea of your bot accounts getting noticed more, sure, buy RAF time.
Note to self: Don't buy RAF time or do a damn good job of making my accounts like like real people, which doesn't include 18 hours of the same thing every day.
If you read all this, God bless you, I am not short-winded. If you think im wrong, tell me why, and let us hope you are not one of the RAF time sellers that has an interest to protect, ones that way "oh no, no way you will get banned".
Edit 1:
What did the account closure notice state for a reason?
