Account banned 1.5 years back, appealing now?

Hi guys,

I appreciate this is probably a real long shot but thought I'd get some opinions on this.

I had my original WoW account banned I'd say about 1.5 years ago for very casual botting. I think I was using Gatherbuddy for mining nodes and MrFishIt for some fishing (I really can't remember, but I do remember that a banwave occured and the developers of the bot confirmed on their forum at the time that the bot wasn't patched quickly enough which resulted in loads of people being banned - Not trying to implicate either bot, really can't remember which bots I was using but the GUI of Gatherbuddy (GB1) seems very familiar). All this very casually for a few hours every week.

I accepted the ban anyway and of course understood the risks involved with botting. I'd had this account since WoW launched and never had any warnings or suspensions they just banned it right off. I appealed as one would via email they said the matter was closed. I rang, spoke to one of their CSR's and they checked into it and also said matter was closed. I wasn't really bothered to be honest as I was bored of WoW, hence the botting and just moved on.

However, I have been reading lots of threads lately on this forum from people who have simply been suspended for much greater offenses than my own. It appears to me that Blizzard have become more lenient about botting and rather than outright ban people straight off there seems to be an increase in them just suspending for 72 hours etc. I read people have had multiple suspensions and still get back their accounts.

So I was wondering if I should bother appealing the ban once again? Seeing if they would reconsider unbanning the account after all this time?

Long shot I know but wondered if anyone had a similiar experience.

Just try it. For my personal experience, Blizz does not seem to care about old accounts very much.

Tried getting my Account back which was banned over 6 Years ago.

Didnt work, maybe because they saw how much i hacked in pvp and all the gold omg, this was great.

there are no time limits, just say you quit wow 2 years ago and came back to find your account banned, say u wanted to use the new scroll of resurection, best solution, so far back they will give you the benefit of the doubt.

its really easy to get unbanned if you say you got hacked, they deal with so many hacked accounts i dont think they even bother to check the IP or anything else, they deal with so many people i dont understand why you all feel like special snowflakes. why would your account demand more of their time than the hundreds of callers they get daily, they just want you to be happy and get done with you as soon as they can to move to help the next person.

there is no massive WoW FBI team... they check into it if its really fishy and you call a few times a year or something, but if its your first offence on the account there is no reason they would not unban it if you claim you got hacked. dont admit to botting, dont say you didnt know it wasnt allowed, dont even talk about that shit, its just stupid. say you got hacked, even if you didnt, they dont care, you will get your account back.
